Will Smith's acting is good, quite convincing is his transition from a fallen hero to a mature person. The side story involving theron is quite ridiculous which really messes up the film. It would have been better to keep the superhero antics to will smith only, maybe the director wanted to introduce a surprise element in the story but he eventually made it a hash of it.
