Most of readers are comparing this show with BR Chopra, Ramanand Sagar's yesteryeared Ramayan and Mahabharath. Like most telugus I saw the old telugu classical movies of 50/60s by directors like Kamalakara Kameswar Rao / KV Reddy, they are far above than Chopra and Sagar shows. However Arun Govil and Nitish Bhardwaj went into the roles to make the TV shows succesful, however telugu mythologicals NTR with his (irritating) mannerisms shadowed the characters.
Not a fan of Ekta kapoor, I still gave her a chance and watched her Mahabharat on TV yesterday. And I was pained to see the gory description of our epic. "Draupadi" looks vulgar, tatto on her chest, saree tied below an oozing navel- a typical C grade hindi movie style. Yudhisthir has beard and big hairs flowing. Dialogue delivery of lowest quality. Today I could imagine the genious of Chopra and Ramanad Sagar. Hats off to them.
Friends please protest, not against the freedom of expression but against perversion in the name of that freedom. Time is not far when Ekta's mahabharat will show rapes, conspiracy, sex and murder that way her serials depict. Please request, shout, agitate to stop this rape of one of the greatest epic.
Just look at the chest of Yudhisthir. You can notice big difference in colour of his neck and chest. Its definetly not a sun tan. His all abs are copy pasted form somewhere else (SRK?)

O Intelligent!!! If they have copied abs, they could have matched body color too. I can understand it not as TANNING but definitely don't agree with abs as a copy.
Creation of such a serial should take at least 6-8 yrs......but EK has come up with the serial in no time...I dont think she has done any research before making it...
This Mahabharat, is a ghastly mutilation of one of the great classics of world literature. Even without reference to the Mahabharata, the Sanskrit epic upon which this soap opera is ostensibly based, the serial is stunningly atrocious. The acting is abysmal. The sets and costumes are ludicrous, not -at-all matching with the epic.
Can v expected this serial non-stop-nonsence for the next 10 years....???
All sisters and brothers, Come on and protest against Ekta Kapoor's Mahabharat. It's nothing but a carricature, sheer Nautanki. You just watch one play and you will find how our great Scripture is being displayed here.
The actors, costumes, dialogue, scenes, etc. are furious. They are not upto the mark. About 99 percentage of viewers have confessed that this Mahabharat is below standard in every aspect.
Save our great holy scripyutres. Otherwise it will one day lose its sanctity, chastity and dignity
