Movie would have been Superhit if Lalettan had done Dileep's role. They would need to add more action and some songs. And shakeela, reshma, Sindhu,maria,roshni etc should have been cast as Veddis..One song with all of them and Lalettan and movie would have been superhit, Shaji Kailas should direct
I can't say calcutta news is blessy's best work but I definitely enjoyed watching it.The first half was really good,i think blessy lost track after that.He attempted to fit all sorts of ingredients into the last hour and that was his folly.It would have been better if blessy had concentrated on the psychological thriller part.The black magician in red robes was really effective but blessy left it at that. Dileep is adorable.His hairdo,specs and outfits give him a real TV journalist look.Meera is also fantastic.Dileep and Meera make a great sceen couple and the songs are fab. overall, if only blessy hadn't tried making a documentary,family movie, thriller,action adventure all-in-one, Calcutta News would have been The Best!
..blessy s truly admirable n he has proved his mettle once again with culcutta news.He ventured into a theme n setting which none of the directors in malayalam film industry can even think about directing.He took us virtually to a new city,the'city of joy'.the people,the life etc were reflected with good 'common sense'.He deserves the title of a 'film maker'.the script was adorable.
Dear Keralites, No doubt! Blessy is a gifted Director. In this movie Culcutta News, Dileep is the most unwanted portion.Last 30 minutes of the film is quiet interesting.Surely it is a Director's movie.
