Welcome, citizen of SRK country. Seems you only know tht dialogue, like ur dumb srk you also are following his dialogues. Whn SRK entertained pak-ind cricketeers whn the series ws goin on, he calld sreesanth and explained to him to tht he is goin to use malayalam dialogue. He thn repeated this dialogues, so wht ws the dialogue in tamil or malayalam. Looks like evn SRK does not know the diff. between malayalam and tamil. Like SRK, like his fans!!!

I am not a Tamilian, but I have watched Rajni Films on videos and also his regional films. I must say that Rajni the persona goes beyond the roles he portrays. There have been some exceptions though where he underplayed his normal mannerism of keeping a gun airborne and things like that. But then that is what people come to see Rajni for. He transports the ordinary people in to a totally different world, a Rajni world if I may say so where if you are with Rajni then anything and everything is possible. I think this is great. He has been able to galvanize masses into doing a lot of constructive activities for the society, and that I feel is great. He is the highest paid star in the entire country, but still is very humble and that is great. Most importantly he is still human, any other ordinary person in his place would have got carried away by the mass adulation he generates, but not Rajni. He is great considering his rise from humble beginnings with no godfather to help him. God bless him with many more awards, because great hearted people like him deserve all this and more. Tamilian's are the most sensitive and sentimental people in India. Most of the roles done by RAJNI & MGR(the then Chief Minister) are supportive to poor. They find a "AVATAR" role for these two actors, who will one day help them out all difficulties and problems.
Even the romantic films and romantic songs, tamil love story and tamil songs are staying well above other language in termas sentiments.
Hindi movies are basically fantasy films, its all about glamour and posh.
What I trying to say is that, because of this sentimental values, Rajni stands well above other film stars in India. He can create a massive tsunami wave just with one nod or move in chennai. In terms of popularity, Sharuk & Big B are nothing. In acting they may be better valued.
I am not a Tamilian, but I love him and love his cinemas. I never look to the quality of movies or his acting. A Rajni cinema is Rajni cinema. thats all. Thats y people love that,

need not worry he is not Tamilian too. Need not belong to any region to appreciate anyone in the world. Rajni is great actor and a learnt to be a very good human being
Whenever if there is an article about a person who hails from South India, I see the same kind of debate between North Indian and South Indian people. Why is this? First try to treat everyone as a human being. When Harbajan was charged for racist comments, everyone will say that Indians are not racist. By reading these comments, I can really see how much racism exists in India. Shame on you all! Whenever someone achieves something even if you don't want to appreciate them, atleast try not to hurt them.

Prasanna. The point is rajini is accesible to people in his neighborhood and community. If nagesh happend to be in tht community or meet him during making of his films. Thts his point of view on rajinikanth.
As mentioned by Mr.kruns rediff posts abt rajini coz more than south indians u northies come wagging ur tail to read posts about rajini..i bet there wud not be so much posts, if the news was abt a north indian actor.its because we dont poke our nose into it.. if u dont like rajini or any stars in south india better get away from this!!!

Raj Kapur was famous among the Russians. Amitabh is known in US and UK - Americans and British and not only the Indians there... Naseerudin Shah - is famous in US theatre circles and movie world.
SRK is a Super Star - But guage his acting and not the revenue........ repetitive style... same acting style for years...!! Did he look old even with tonnes of make up in Veer Zaara..? he couldnt...!!
Manoj Bajpai, Irfaan Khan, Naseerudin Shah etc are the top class actors.. but they are not SUPER STARS cos their dont make millions....
Point is Media and Money! and of course some stupid fans.....

Looks like again thers goin to war between rajini fans and haters. Congrats. for rajini winning this award, since he deserved it. The qestions asked by johar and srk were obviously on wht rajinikanth thinks of the good old bollywood empire. The ndtv wer also into this charade of trying to make rajinikanth take notice of srk,"Do you want to ask Shah Rukh a question, or say something to him?" Why didn't karan johar did not say indian film fraternity, now he is saying bombay film. So can we expect the IIFA and GIFA awards to stop and strt placing international bombay film awards. Rajini's answers was very straight forward and no beating arnd the bush. My favorite answer is to srk,"I am telling you, Shah Rukh, you will one day become Shahenshah". No exact tips there on how to become one, but i think he is tryin to say the obvious tht when mr.bachan retires, your next. In addition, srk is not a shahenshah now and he will b/come one in the future. So glad to know from rajinikanth, tht srk is not the king.

why hindi films are so dominated by punjabis and pathani khans. So much discrimination. Dilip Kumar, Raj Kapoor, Dev Anand, Sunil dutt, Dharmendra, Deols, Akshay Kumar, Hritik Roshan, Rakesh Khanna, Vinod Khanna all these are Punjabis only.

TAMILAINS MUST BE KNOWING HE ACTED IN ALMOST 35 HINDI MOVIES. ALL WERE BIG FLOPS ONLY 2 3 WERE HITS THAT ALSO CAUSE PRESENCE OF OTHER BIG STARS HE TRIED HIS BEST TO MAKE A MARK IN HINDI MOVIES CAUSE HE HIMSELF KNEW BY ACTING IN HINDI MOVIES HE CLD REACH MORE AUDIENCE BUT ALL HIS ANTEEKS R LIMITED TO TAMILIANS ONLY.

Every art has its patrons, and surprisingly for two different arts there will be two sets of patrons. So dont tell if he is flop in Hindi movies he is any less. He is a great actor in his genre and class and for the audience he works for. You may not like opera stars as you dont know what is opera but go to Australia and you will find people are crazy about it. You may be crazy for cricket go to US and people dont care they care for Foot Ball. Similarly every artist has its followers. Rajnikanth is great actor as he can influense his audience much more than any one else can. Amitabh is great artist in Bollywood, I dont think he has any presence in Hollywood. Though I am not Tamilian but I praise Rajni for his acheivements.

I am real glad to see a few sane voices in the forum. It is heartening to note that there are some people ready to debate constructively rather than resort to below the below. I have only one comment to make to all the Northies & Southies throwing stones at each other, just remember there is one factor unifying Indians. No matter that we eat idlis or rotis, at the end of the eating cycle, when we shit, we clean our arses the same way & do not have the concept of toilet paper. Hail India, Hail India's cleanliness of our backsides. That is what unites India.....

Lots of spelling mistakes, but that is understandable... he..he.... its clear that you are not a "Tamilain" he..he.. and I dont care as long as u are an Indian!
No ones asking here whos the greatest actor... cos these days the "greatness" is gauged by the amount the movie makes... and the media hype..
With that in mind, NTR, Nageshwara Rao, Dilip Kumar, Raj Kapur, Prem Nazir etc... are not great actors.. they are mediocre actors... he..he.. in ure terms!!
Sit there and think what u are talkin and then slap ureself 10-15 times... its worth it..!!
Was ure fav Chiru a hit in Bolly..? Venkatesh came in and went... Chiru used to act in all Hindi remakes of all Tamil movies... and all those movies will be directed by some Raos... he..he.....

Hello, he has tried to act in bollywood movies, but bollywood heroes dont even dare to act in south indian movies. Anyways most of the best technicians in bollywood are from south india. do remember it. Most of the hindi songs or movies are always copied and remake of south indian movies. Please check this which shows the inefficiencies of our bollywood people. I myself is from Uttar Pradesh but I know talent lies in south of india.

I consider movies as entertainment, though some movies try to prompte social and moral values. In that light, I agree that Rajnikanth is a true entertainer. I congratulate him on winning this award. As for all the black/white and north/south bashing, I hope that eventually, we all start thinking as Indians, and only as Indians.
We should take inspiration from Tagore's poem "My Country Awake"

I liked the poem and so ur idea as well gr8... dat's the way personally i feel different people are entitled to different opinion..and i feel aamir is better than shahrukh but then if u think in terms of money then rajni has finally broken shahrukh's challenge in terms of what he is earning but this is an actor in the end shahrukh is richer being a producer of his movies as well and rajni is good and humble so both are good but aamir is the best of them all
