itni jalan kyo ho rahi hai bhai log, that people are appreciating the movie. it speaks to the underlying secularism of the indian people, they appreciate good art instead of getting hung up on NONSENSE ..like the poster below me said, GROW UP peeps and go watch this movie NOW. THIS IS A MOVIE TO BE SEEN ON BIG SCREEN, truly a once in a lifetime spectacular event

Thanks and Regards to all my non fandoo bhai behen

Grow up!!!!

I find some comments on Akbar immature. We have someone telling us that he had many wives and was cruel. so whats his point?

1. No other king [irrespective of his religion] in the history of Ind had many wives, along with mistresses?
2. Akbar is suppose to be a king and not a priest. Even the gr8 Ashoka killed many ppl.
3. Ind was not Ind at that time. It was a land divided into many states, each ruled by a royal family. so how different is Akbar invading say kingdom X, instead of lets say King Z invading kingdom X?
4. When Baber took the throne of Delhi, he defeated a Muslim King, if I m not wrong.

The sad thing is that some ppl attack our historical figures based on their religion but usually the same ppl will respect the British who ruled us for so many yrs [2 centuries]. They will happily migrate to UK but will makes faces if someone makes a film on Akbar or Ashoka? Why don't you guys protest against the British PM when he visited Ind? If you didnt protest then i guess you forgot abt what British did to Ind but it's funny that you guys speak against Akbar when he never even occupied ur land and Ind was never Ind at that point!!!!

Get a life, dudes

cheers

movie on shivaji. THE UNDEFEATED HERO OF INDIAN HISTORY.
What a great inspiration he would be to us. How come a maharashtrian like Gowariker makes a Bandabaaz story like Jodha Akbar. It is a cooked up story.
Story of Shivaji is like a guru granth for every Indian. His leadership and team building skill can not be matched by million ivy league MBA's. A young boy whose own father was serving under mughal rule decides to FIGHT BACK to defend to get back what was right fully ours. The way he killed the tall and hefty afzal khan proves that smartness always beats bullyness.
There is not a single celebration in his honour in our Bharat varsh. We see people appeasing and falling head over heels to highlight Mughal empire. And such ingratitude to a person who is a symbol of self respect and courage. Amassing courage from his example millions of indians had the guts to revert to back to hinduism and say yes we are pround to be hindus

Our country is sold out. We mostly have wimpy leader. Even today a foriegner is ruling us. Sharad pawar first protests then when he see some some bones thrown at him goes and licks feet. Such is the story of our unfortunate motherland.

thanks for the information
atleast few indians would know the history of that rogue akbar the cruked mogha wasnt worthy of making a film about.
unfortunatly textbooks for school children published by indian govt paint a different and altered hstory of just not akbar but india as a whole.
I really dont know how people in the land of shivaji let such movies made and get distributed.
Movies about rana pratap who fought war with akbar with the help of bhils till the end.
maharaja shivaji who fought to protect hinduss.
these are the people of character who knew how to respect women not to rape women and make them concubines like muslim rulers.
i think with congress in power we might see movies made on aurangajebs, babar and rest of the muslim decoits as well.
and our indian people are so shameless they would watch any movies which might even be made about their mothers and sisters being taken by these muslim rulers and make them hits.
its the sad story of india

Agree with you Srikrishna
What we believe as a history, is something that is
told to us. Every history-teller has a perspective with which he portrays history. We as responsible citizens of today's India should know all the perspectives of every history. This is something that is lacking today, hence we are so intolerant about every thing historical.

Enough of your crap. Moughals were the best rulers of India and then British. All others were local kings. Learn to digest it - it is a bare truth. Shivaji was the best king - but he did not figt for hindus my dear - he fought for people of the land - against Aurangzeb who was the cruel amongst moghals. Stop taking name of great person like Shivaji to abuse others and showing your false pride and knowledge.

I agree with abcdef...If you people are so full of hatered for Mughal rulers then please abolish Taj Mahal. It was built by a Mughal. Please don't vote for Taj going next time or ever.

Jodhha Akbar is a hit
by AalbertPhoenix on Feb 20, 2008 02:08 AM

Overseas - Jodha Akbar had the widest release for a Bollywood movie ever! It was released in 26 countries in about 1500 prints!

United Kingdom (UK) - Jodha Akbar released on 70 prints and grossed 57,000 pounds on the thursday night preview alone! The opening has been earth shattering and could end up just a tad below Shahrukh Khan%u2019s Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna and Om Shanti Om for the weekend, which would mean its the third biggest opening in the UK for a Bollywood movie! Now for a histrocial, its a HUGE achievement!

Unites States (US) - The movie had the biggest release for a Bollywood movie ever and the openning is even bigger opening here.. It has reportedly grossed $374,000 on Friday! SRK%u2019s Om Shanti Om grossed $385,000 on the first day of its release. Jodha Akbar has surpassed all expectations. Never in the widest of dreams would anyone have expected it to open so big.

The poor promotion, delay, negativity around the movie prior to its release; absolutely nothing seemed to have affected the movie. This is by far the biggest opening for a Hrithik Roshan movie overseas. In short, Jodha Akbar looks like a winner all the way, at home and overseas!
