agree with you dude....this movie doesn't come in my top movie list as well...there are many kannada greats....particularly i loved most of AnantNag and Shankar Nag movies in the past and now we have many young blood giving meaningful original flicks like Cyanide, Avva....
There are some good movies and many bad movies in all cine industries in India. People who say only their cine industry produces good films are stupids. Because of these stupids, who inevitably are staunch fans of a particular hero, will do anything to watch first show of their hero's film; come out and say their hero put up a fantastic performance even if the performance is third rate. As long as this fan following continues we will not get decent films to watch and a decent crowd to criticise and accept level headed criticism.
I am a telugu, brought up in Chennai - but I watch any language movie which gets a good critics rating.
Come on guys - do not be so parochial. lets us first consider ourselves as proud Indians. Then all these differences will make it more interesting to get to know others. Then all these abusers will be outnumbered and they will disappear from these sort of forums.
Kannada movies were always good. Just because watching few crap movies and saying industry was not good and now it is good does not hold any weight. The difference is earlier media was anti-kannada movies and now it is becoming pro-kannada. Media has realized that they can reach masses only by being pro-Kannada.

yeha...agree...and look at these kannada abusers...check any tamil movie review on rediff...can you see any kannadigas going and abusing tamilians there??? that shows what culture kannadigas have...
kannada industry has produced some classics in the past and even today there are some serious cinema happening...if check national award list, kannada is the second best in south...Malayalam has got 7 national award for best movies, 6 for kannada and Tamail/telugu 1 each.
at the same time, there are some idiot directors here in kannada [i am sure such craps are there everywhere] who tarnish industry image. If you want to watch good movies, kannada indsurty has many...guys who don't like kannada movies, we are fine with that...but before abusing us, go and watch kannada movies first.

Whenever I see any article on Kannada movies and its industry first paragraph always say kannada movies were bad and now changed... This is not the fact..How many broadminded people who speak other languages saw kannada movies...Just seeing one low budget movie once in their life time they say kannada movies are bad...Bad and good movies are all there in every industry.. Earlier also kannada movies are good...You go and ask any kannada Lovers they tell you the names of good movies...Just dont criticise simply... Let me list out few movies of 90s and begining of 2K...Go and watch them...Kannada movies were always good...
1. Mutthinahara 2. A (technicall and good script) 3. Upendra (Totally different in indian cinema) 4. Execuse me 5. Kariya 6. Aham Premasmi (good comedy/direction) 7. Yekangi (one of the best techincally sound film..Just see it to get the knowledge on colors) 8. Malla (Sentiment/action/drama) 9. puttnanja 10. Annayya 11. Gadibidi ganda 12. gadibidi aliya...
More to List out..Kannada are good...I do agree some low budget bad cinemas come in kannada too..This is common in all languages...we can not help it...for that we can not criticise others... Be rational in thinking before you write articles....

Apart from Muttinahara, u cannot say others which u have mentioned as landmark films
don't comment alaways on kannada movies,because see uppi's A movie,sudeep's huchha,vishnu's nagar havu,raj's bangardha manussu,ravi's premaloka,srinath's manasa sarovar,rammay's excuse me,dharshans kariya, ganesh galipata then come to the conclusuion
If we observe ,the kannada industry or kannada movies are improving after the death of Raj Kumar. During his time,most of the films were made with his sons & soemhow all the directors were suppresed

Industry is growing because of his blessings from "heaven".When he was alive, he was not involved in making movies, only his wife responsible for making movies. Raj family is good for hunting new heroines.

What we really missed was Rajkumar being paired with Parvathamma. It would have been a superhit.. because anything tagged with 'Rajkumar', they are surely being 'made' run for 100 days (a year?). See these guys - Shivaraj and Puneeth.. they don't even look like they have taken bath for their life.. Ganesh has been a welcome change. Among Southies, Kannadigas are fairer complexed.. and these new 'Rajkumars' defintely don't represent Kannadigas.. even their dialogue delivery is pathetic. Tell me now, if everyone's made to believe these guys are the topmost... then anyone comes to the conclusion that our movies are bad. No more discussions.. Period.
