The tinkling of clashing swords, the piercing arrows, the stampede of the elephant, the booming canons, the thundering background score no doubt reverberate in the mind as you come out of the theatre. However, the coyness of the mighty Akbar, the guts and grit of the self-respecting, beautiful Jodha, the colourful Rajasthani flamboyance (red and green predominately painting most of the scenes), the grandeur of the palaces along with echoes of %u2018Marhaba%u2019 and %u2018Jashne Ishq%u2019 also lingers in the mind%u2026 Well%u2026someone shouted in the theatre, %u201CIs it an Urdu movie or what?%u201D To that I would like to say, how else do you expect a Mughal emperor to speak? Perhaps the greatest lesson learnt from history is that an illiterate king encouraged multiculturalism. Paradoxically, maybe, education today is corrupting the young minds towards more and more intolerance of religions. I of course missed dance of the dashing Roshan but I couldn%u2019t have expected the emperor to break into a %u2018Dhoom Again%u2026%u2019 mode, could I?
Jodhaa Akbar is a brilliant film! I would give it 5 stars! And please do not compare it with troy! There is a lot of difference between the budget of the 2 films! JOdhaa Akbar was cinema at its best! Right from the beginning till then end, there was not even one moment that would bore you! Beautiful film and very well executed! Hrithik Roshan stands out all along and is the real scene stealer!Brilliant performance! Bollywood at its best! Award-winning movie in all aspects - acting, sets, cinematography, direction, production, everything!

Glorifying the Muslim life and characteristics and looking at life from their view point has been the choicest of subjects in hindi film industry...
As if there are no other honourable personalities from our history... why is that we fail to look at a period earlier than the moghuls? did civilization start after the moghul invasion?
Why does not we have more movies depicting the golden era prior to the invasion of moghuls???
We all gleefully ignore the subject, gape openly at the cast and unconciously our minds would presume that the moghul rule was the greatest and their period was "Just".
Shame on such media! As read in a post elsewhere in this forum, stop showing our history of slavery!!!
I saw the movie on last saturday after reading the review of few critics including rediff critic. I must say "Jodhaa Akbar" is one of the finest film ever made on indian screen. It is a pity the young generation does not know what is good and what is bad.I was shocked when i saw the bumper collection of crap movie like "Welcome".Yes it is a good comedy, but does not come any where close to film like "Jodhaa Akbar"
based on the above written review i went to watch Jodha Akbar expecting wholesome entertainment & at the end of 210 mins of torture the best part of the movie for me was the overpriced popcorn & comfortable seats.. how can u,Rediff allow such an exaggerated reivew to be written on its site? either Mr Arthur has no sense of entertainment or rediff was promised some sort of favors by the producers of the movie...... plz for god sake dont let this happen again....i wasted my money and more importantly time on such a piece of crap solely relying on ur review and thats one thing i am never gonna do again in my life......so here u lose one of ur loyal customer Mr Rediff.com........

Good riddance Vineet..you can continue to enjoy inane movies like OSO, Bhagaam Bhag and Welcome..
I must say this is the best periodic movie ever made in the history of Indian Cinema....
The movie is 3:30 mins long!!! Though i felt that the first half was too lengthy and some Urdu dialogues go over the head...... The second half is nothing less than SpEcTaCuLaR...!!!
Hrithik!!! By far, this is his best performance ever...! I can't imagine anyone else playing this character other than him... even Aishwarya has done justice to her character.... (she looks gorgeous in this movie )
Hats off to Ashutosh Gowarikar.... ! Wat a movie! No wonder this movie has taken almost two years for making.... the hard work really shows on the screen!
A.R.Rehman....... has given a very good background score. He's a genius.
Watch out the "Azeem - o -Shaan.... " track.... this one song is enough to show the richness of the movie... the quality of background score... and the talent of the director and his team who have handled hundreds of dance artists perfectly.
Also watch out for -The War sequence in the beginning. -Hrithik taming the elephant. (This was breath taking stuff!!!) -Sword fight between Hrithik and Aish. -Hrithik practicing with the sword. -The Agra sceens. -The climax one on one fight.
Though the movie is 3:30 mins long.... if you like watching a periodic movie, dont miss this one.... Its a True Masterpeice...!
