to the people who are unneccesarily making this communal

Listen guys get your facts right. whatever the voices in your head (or the VHP) tell you historical FACTS state that the golden era of Indian history was the Mughal dynasty under the Grand Mughals, who consitute Babur, Humayun, Akbar, Jahangir, Shah Jahan and Aurangzeb. There are lots of factors taken into consideration before you can call an era an golden age. And the Mughal period fulfills all of them.
Also why aren't films made on Hindu rulers? You shall have to ask the directors that but my guess is that bcos we know more about the Mughals. We have historical written documented material on them that we don't have on any other ruler.
Asoka was NOT a hindu ruler - his grandfather Chandragupta Maurya died a jain, his father bindusara was a agnostic and Asoka himself as is well known was a Buddhist. And I cried many many tears when i saw shah rukh khan's attempt at remaking Asoka - what a waste! I dont want that sort of stuff repeated.
But then remember after Asoka the Great there was the decline - and no other hindu/indian/whatever ruler came close to haveing an empire as huge or as properous and as complete as under the Mughals. whether you like it or not these are the facts. You can love them or leave them. The VHP history are like the Mazi history - i pity people who believe them but then just like everyone will get the guru they deserve so will everyone get the truth they deserve.
Now for ONCE stop this communal nonsense and let me watch a beautiful movie.

pictures like Chak De India, Taare Zamin Pe, Jodha Akbar are emotional blackmailing or patriotical blackmailing. we expect some pictures of break dance, comedy, dialogues, fights etc and not this type of movies...

first i want to clear why Ashutosh would have created this movie-
commercial view is important to gross money-
1.got Rajput viewer
2.All Muslim viewer of Middle east(Iraq to Bangladesh) to United States among 9/11 crisis
3.Mangolian viewers
4.All hindu viewers of India,US & Europe
5.All histry readers of India & all over the world
6.& very important is Marathi viewers because they love very much Ashutosh being a maratha strongman in Bollywood

If this movie would become superhit then
he will surely make the epic movie on ShivajiMaratha the greatest warrior of INDIA.
We are hoping so

i dont know why you insist on calling Shivaji the greatest Hindu warrior - surely Indians can do ebtter. Rani Laxmibai is a much better example. A highway robber who did nothing but back stab all his supporters and who made his money by looting innocents and was rightly jailed by Aurangzeb for doing so is surely not the Hindu Hero of my dreams!

minz ..Shivaji Maratha Was The 1st True Indian To Do Tit For Tat What The Muslims Had Been Doing For Hundrades Of Years.....Loot...I Wish All The True Indian Leaders Had All Done That To All Those Looters Who Came To Loot India....
Muslims Have Always Looted And Murdered....Now They Should Get The Same.....You Should Not Feel It Then...If We Come To Your Homes In Turkey And Arabia...And Rob You All...And Murder You All....After...And Throw You Out Of Those Muslim Countries...

What u know about mughals and what you know about Shivaji Maharaj? Your comments shows that you don't know much about history and biased by religious view. You dumb, go and read the history first before blaming other.

whats wrong in making films on mughals? if u r not interested, then dont watch. films on shivaji, etc. have not been made till now bcoz maybe film makers think that they would not be liked by the public. tomorrow someone might think of making them, so wait & watch.

Glorifying the Muslim life and characteristics and looking at life from their view point has been the choicest of subjects in hindi film industry...

As if there are no other honourable personalities from our history... why is that we fail to look at a period earlier than the moghuls? did civilization start after the moghul invasion?

Why does not we have more movies depicting the golden era prior to the invasion of moghuls???

We all gleefully ignore the subject, gape openly at the cast and unconciously our minds would presume that the moghul rule was the greatest and their period was "Just".

Shame on such media! As read in a post elsewhere in this forum, stop showing our history of slavery!!!

only akbar has been characterized as such in indian films..rest have usually been shown as the barbarians that they were..auragnzeb, guaris and what nots...

shahjahn is only mentioned vis a vis his love for noor jahan and taj mahal not his rule.

Btw ashoka wasnt a muslim ruler and there have been a few films on him. So also prthiviraj chauhan and few others..

siddhartha.... I DONT THINK YOU SHOULD BRING THAT IDOT ..PRITHVIJAJ CHAUHAN IN THIS LIST...ALTHOUGH HE WAS A SUPER HERO ...HE SHOULD BE BEST FORGOTTEN AS A LAUGHING STOCK .
HAVING CAPTURED MOHAMMED GAURI 17 TIMES ,EACH TIME HE PARDONED HIM AND LET HIM GO .
EVEN IF HAD HE STABBED MOHAMMED GAURI IN THE BACK AND KILLED HIM WHEN HE 1ST CAUGHT HIM ,HE WOULD THEN HAVE BEEN CONSIDERED AS A HERO .
I DONT THINK YOU SHOULD BRING THAT IDIOT IN THIS LIST OF INDIAN SUPER HEROS...

99% of hindi filMS ARE made with hindus in mind especially celeberating brahmanism- This is the reason why a larger than life idol is shown with a lakhs of people bowing in when an emotinal song is being played in almost every hindi movie.

Mr. Seshadri, shout infront of your RSS/VHP office with your theory so that they will garland you

The tinkling of clashing swords, the piercing arrows, the stampede of the elephant, the booming canons, the thundering background score no doubt reverberate in the mind as you come out of the theatre.
However, the coyness of the mighty Akbar, the guts and grit of the self-respecting, beautiful Jodha, the colourful Rajasthani flamboyance (red and green predominately painting most of the scenes), the grandeur of the palaces along with echoes of %u2018Marhaba%u2019 and %u2018Jashne Ishq%u2019 also lingers in the mind%u2026
Well%u2026someone shouted in the theatre, %u201CIs it an Urdu movie or what?%u201D To that I would like to say, how else do you expect a Mughal emperor to speak? Perhaps the greatest lesson learnt from history is that an illiterate king encouraged multiculturalism. Paradoxically, maybe, education today is corrupting the young minds towards more and more intolerance of religions.
I of course missed dance of the dashing Roshan but I couldn%u2019t have expected the emperor to break into a %u2018Dhoom Again%u2026%u2019 mode, could I?
