Jodhaa Akbar MASTERPIECE
by Chaitanya on Feb 26, 2008 06:26 PM

I think that its a fantastic movie

It has everything correct except
its long length

Even though it has a big stars in Hrithik and Ash
the film reflects the fantastic work of Gowarikar and its marvelous Music by Rehman

This film has a great story , really good screenplay, outstanding choreography , tremendous acting from all the stars, one of the finest of the work by all the technicians and it also has really great music ---> probably the Best from Rehman

To add to it
it has a fantastic dialog , screenplay, costume.

This film also has a lot of action sequences as well.

If you see this film
you will also notice that
The decisions that have been taken (atleast shown to be taken) are totally towards Humanity
and Akbar has really gone against the tide when taking these decisions and
Which has resulted in reviewing his Greatness,

I would like everybody to go and watch this movie
all in all
It's a MASTERPIECE
THIS IS ONE FILM YOU SHOULD NOT MISS.

GREAT MOVIE.

Indians today lack any character and mellowed by political correctness to speak the truth.. you cant find an Indian director worth his salt to make movies on Rana Sangha Or Pratap, or even Raja Dahir who chose to fight the treacherous bin Qasim and be blinded by him. You wont find movies on the atrocities of Ghazni or Ghauri or Aurangzeb. You will not even find mention of genocide of Pak army on Hindus in E Pakistan. What you will find is chasing out of Taslima Nasreen because she writes books. Shabash!

I strongly disagree with u both. This movie is not about making history proud or mughals proud. Everybody know that mughals distroyed hindu temples, with akbar being an exeption. This is just a sensible love story set in 16th centuary, and people like u should change ur approach towards this movie. This is indeed one of classic romantic movies made in India so far.

I do agree with you, there are so many true stories that we have no doubt about (I mean controversies), In real terms, Shershah Suri (who took state from Humayu) was quite better than Akbar, infact most of the changes that Akbar has done actually first implemented by Shershah Suri. But anyways, I hope that someday someone may take up these topics which actually tells the tales of our proud history.

Worth a watch!
by on Feb 24, 2008 05:02 PM  | Hide replies

i was amazed at my patience when i realized that i had just finished watching a 3 hour and 45 minutes long. well to start with the movie for sure is long and the length does pinch you at times .however there were certain scenes in which i quit playing with Nokia SNAKES and paid rapt attention to the movie. i enjoyed the sword fight scene(did someone say its average?)i liked it very much and i SMILED AT THE MOMENT WHEN hrithik reminds aishwarya "HUM AAPKE SUHAG HAIN" JUST TOO AWESOME A SCEne. another scene that really touched me when hrithik confesses to aish that he has recieved no formal education so far(my expression was like awwwwwwwww....and the crowd went like KLPD..hehe). i was touched by hrithik's expression.the scene when hrithik was trying to tame the out-of control elephant was good as well! cinematography, songs, music everything is just perfect.hrithik's hrithik! i mean outstanding and aishwarya has given a flawless performance indeed!

but it sufferes from the same drawbacks as those of mangal pandey. well, it does not focus on one topic. the movie comprises of short stories and ofcouse everything gets fine in the end! gowarikar may say its all about the way jodha and akbar tackeled those ups n downs in thier lives but i dont think Indian movie goers are very used to the movies which does not have a proper story line.
and hey if u wanna watch it do watch it in theaters not on pirated stuff just for the sake of its great cinematography.
I am rating it as 3.5/

Hi,
Well its not abt my command on the language, but scores of thing that were running through within me while I was writing that. I actually lost the flow what I really wanted to put. Pardon me for that. So the main point was that this film showed Maharana Udaysingh as a conspirator, whereas this one state (Chittorgarh, Mewar) stood against all the odds and Akbar was never able to win that state. I said he was not that good a warrior as he never fought himself with either Maharana Udaysingh or Maharana Pratap (his son), instead he sent Maansingh and other rajputs to fight. And the main question is if Akbar was great then what we will term Maharana Pratap as?? If he was a militant or a traitor??

I felt Humiliated as a Rajput
by amit singhvi on Feb 24, 2008 01:41 AM

Hi All,

Its not that I am not secular, its not even that what this movie showed, but I am literally hurt that this movie didnt showed how Akbar was in his own life so concerned about one state and one king called Maharana Pratap... no doubt he was philantrophist, but somewhere he was not that great of warrior... and that is what I need to know if I am alone with this assumption where Maharana Sanga who fought with 80 wounds, Maharana Pratap who infact lived on grass bread than to be with Akbar's so called Red Fort??? If someone cant give respect to Maharana Pratep than atleast dont make us shameworthy that we Rajputs were not able to take these Mughals in our Arms.... Thats all I actaully wanted to say and Tell... I am not MNS. But I am a Rajput who knows what it is like to die for my land and for my country.

by amit singhvi on Feb 24, 2008 01:27 AM  | Hide replies

I am rajput by myself, But he wa not even really equall to what we believe and what we lived for.. What the hell u know about our history as a Rajput?? We were the people, whom even Mughal never were able to win... But ........ what about Maharana pratap?? What about Maharana Sanga?? this movie showed them as coward.... And I know as I belong to that land.... and it was like,,,, hmmmm,,.... it was like they were the true warriors, and this so called Akbar never fought us Rajput's. what he actually did that he made fought Rajput with another Rajput..... I still remmember HaldiGhati..... If anybody of u damn remmember that.......

Hey listen you rajputs if you had not been so busy fighting between yourself we would not have had so many raids from the Muslim rulers of the Central Asia in the first place. Second, check your fatcs, your great Rana Sanga invited Babur to come to India to beat his opponents. So much for valour and bravery - dont believe so much in songs and folklore - historical facts reveal rajputs to be sly, selfish and not a little foolhardy.

Long awaiting movie that I was looking forward to this year. Great Directing! Great Filming ! It was long thou but what the hell,I enjoyed myself tremedously.I watch it twice and no regrets.Trying to understand the history.I am amazed of how Hritik could act which so much passion and "real" as the emperor Jalalluddin and not forgetting you Top it all ! of all the characters that you act in other movies You brought the character alive and Aish, pretty as ever, you were great! Both looks so compatible together. Two thumbs up! You got to watch it!Seeing is believing!
