Kerala gets ready to celebrate a week of heightened productivity.
kerala the land of intellectuals, perverted political class spouting dated theories ,engels, marx, lenin, mao, basu ... now karat, achu maman n pinarayi ... shining stars of
Kerala intellectual class.ability to read makes them intellectuals...
the so called political class exploit the disgruntled elements of the society just like the shiv sena in mumbai make life miserable and industry, work impossible in this
state of maximum literacy. The person who built the only motorable road that doesn't get washed away at the first rains of the monsoon was driven to suicide by the parties. The roads in the entire
state have been erased and the contractors waiting for their pie and another round of digging for job creation. And now the motor strike.followed by the UDF strike and then
a strike to protest the previous strikes.. what else. Does Sonia,Karat,Yechuri ( ) or Advani have the sense to ask their party men to behave in this unruly state. They watch the fun hoping to grab the PM seat in the next
round.Of course the left never hankers after ministerial posts. They're happy ruining Kerala and driving the common man to suicide the most common solution to all financial
ills in this state of pseudo intellectuals. This state can never attract any investments.Businessmen are not fools to accept weeks of lost productivity.Which can happen only

This state can never attract any investments.Businessmen are not fools to
accept weeks of lost productivity.Which can happen only this state in India. While all other states
are reaping the benefits of economic growth.Kerala has jobs only as head loaders;goondas nurtured
by the parties in the name of socialism. There are no people to climb coconut trees.Shortage of
eggs, milk, rice.Nothing is produced in this state and then they complain of financial
difficulties, lack of employment. With all the economic theories of the idiots they're not able to
come up with jobs other than head loading and road digging every year and of course toddy shops at every turn. All sensible qualified people migrate to other parts of the country. All keralites enjoy
the hartal filled week.Comrades.... exploitation ..

If thts the case thn, bachan family, srk, seems to be paying rediff to write an article on thm everyday. Come on, thy are actors and star. In india wht do u expect people and media alike will treat actors.
My request to Sreenivasan is, he should write a script for the fourth part of Naddodikattu, Dasan and Vijayan should rock the screen with the combo of Mohanlal, Sreenivasan and Sathyan Anthikad.
There is no Doubt Malayalaees and Bengalis have lots of Talents but r overshadowed by the North Indian Lobby...No Doubt Mohan Lal is a Great Actor...The way He changes the Character is very Natural that in Hindi only Big B CAN match him ...another eg is Yesudas who is the best Singer in India itself He sang his First song in Hindi in the Film Chitchor where is all the 8 songs became a Hit which made Kishore Kumar Sleepless...Rumours r heard Kishore Kumar used his Gunda to shoot Yesudas in a Party but Yesudas escaped that attack but didnt complain about it then after that He came to sing in the Film Daud...We have World class Directors, Script writers, films but what to do our Lnaguage is not National We dont get as much Exposure as Hindis...C what happened when the North Indian Lobby promoted Ekalavya for the Oscars We were made to shame by being Rejected that Film...c How the Classic Film Manichitrathazh was Spoiled when came in Hindi as Bhool Bhulaya...

Why are you compalaining, when kerala directors seldom compain abt this issue.
Kerala directors are happy wherver their movies ar released, whthr in kerala alone or even other states. Even if it does not cater to north indian states, they dont ponder too much on tht.
Kerala movies have gone international in the past w.directors, adoor gopalakrishnan, shaji n.karun, murali nair, g.arivindan etc.. and have received numerous int. accolades and awards.
Murali nair and shaji karun have won in cannes film festival. Adoor gopalakrishnan movies ar not very much applauded by kerala audiences, but his movies gets theatrical releases in european countries. Even at toronto film festival, his recent movie were screened in a full house theatre.
International critics are hailing adoor gopalakrishnan as the next satyajit ray. Even hit mal. movie abudhtvan(sorry 4 nt gtting the name right) have acquired hollywood rights to remake the movie.
Recently santosh sivan made an engish movie in kerala.
As sreenivasan said, don't run for money and only passionate work will achieve success more than money will achieve and no financial success will satisfy the heart of a passionate worker.

Leon: good posting...i do agree with you on your take...no doubt in that....there are many good movies in many languages didnt make it to oscar..politics is everywhere....for that you need to blame jury team..not a an industry..right? let us be specific in what we want to say...
it is like this...for one shakeela would you call Mallu/kannada/telugu industry a porn industry? Nope right...same way...there are classics in south and i believe to certain extent south itself is responsible less popularity of our movies...
do we release DVDs with subtitles? else, how could our neighbors can watch our movies? atleast earlier i use to enjot classic south movies on national tv on sundays with subtitles....i myself is part of south india and i do miss those great days...

Konga I agree w/you. This kind of deviates from ur comment, but evn the west and european countries hav only knowledge abt bollywood as indian cinema. Evn currntly ther wer intrviews of clooney, pitt, don cheadle, and catherine zeta jones. They all identify indian cinema as bollywood.
This really comes to a suprise, tht south indian cinema is still unknown "popularly" but they are known at various film festivals. So its the south film cinema thts its to blamed for not "popularizing" the movies.
On the contrary the south cinema is doing and excellent job at taking a deep interest at film festivals, so this evens things out.

arre yaar...why start this non-sense yaar? i agree mallus are great...but what makes you think others aren't? Just check who made Bhool Bhulaya in Hindi? another mallu only...so you also have craps amongst you...
and when it comes to Oscars - any director/producer can send his/her movie independently...why can't Malayalam industry do that?
Be proud of what you are.. but don't abuse your neighbors...

Its not abt sending mal, tamil, bengali, telugu, kannada, assamese etc... movies to the oscars. The present state of the jury members and their standards for choosing films to reprsnt india to send to oscars, is very weak.
The past chosen movies from hindi cinema wer devdas, paheli, eklavya was bad. Even in other lang.films, jeans was really bad choice, and out of a number of kamal hassan films tht wer the official choice, his indian movie was not grt compared to his other movies.
Forget the past, but whn eklavya was sent, ther ws the court issue and all tht stuff goin on. This lead up to oscar juries responsible 4 international films selection to embarass us. According, to the people who chooses indian films to oscars, an oscar jury replied to them saying indian film juries have poor standards. Also, oscar juries wer suprised tht the court had to decide which movies to send.
Out of all the kamal hassan films, none of them made it into the final four nomination at oscars. Thts a shock, since all those movies were excellent. And from all these years, only 3 movies made into the oscar final four nomination.

This is a Malayalee Speaking with fairly good understanding of cinema at both ends . Reply from Konga is perfect. yes malyalam cinema is class but dont ssay " North Indian lobby " ... Hindi Cinema too has its bests and after all we dont watch cinema always for serios stuff / comic stuff Masala is also order of the day and thats by choice ... There are hits and misses everywhere pls do not generalise on a world wide forum...
Supereb person, actor in Malayalam cinema....If we watch Mr. Sreenivasan's film it is very close to real life, its like the story which is going round you...if such cinemas are made in hindi and the execution of the characters are done by some excellent actors of our bollywood, then you can expect a hit movie this year....

Tamil and malayalam award winning actors have only let the characters engulf the person, and whn recntly meeting kamal hassan at international film festival of kerala. I did not feel any goosebumps or awe of the actor.
He is just a person donning excllnt roles and found him normal and to tell the truth, kamal hassan is nothing w/o his characters.
The same goes w/mohanlal, its like meeting your old friend since i see his movies again and again.
I never met rajinikanth, since he harldy meets his fans or public in intrview and all tht stuff. But looking at t.v whn he rarely appears, doesn't wnt to be jump in awe, since he is exctly like a bus condctor w/so so much simplicity. I lvd his past movies b/f donning the action roles, but evn in his superhero roles his simplicity always outshines his character's suppsd machoness.
