good songs are really enjoyable, not just copy songs from telugu. that crap disgraced fellow vijay copies scenes, comedy, songs ,story from telugu movies he has even bit of brain of his own. all success should go to telugu film creatos.

What a pathetic review
by manikantan k on Dec 25, 2008 07:01 PM

I would request Rediff to have open reviews by fans rather than having a person who cannot differentiate between Tamil cinema & Telegu cinema.
Rediff...Ur quality is going down rapidly...

Villu songs
by Naresh Kumar on Dec 25, 2008 03:25 PM

Actually the remake culture that Vijay films have perpetuated over these years have resulted in effortless work for both film and music directors.

Devi Sri Prasad got into trouble when he lifted his own tune from a Chiranjeevi starrer for a Vijay film Sachin released two years ago.

In this film his original hits in films starring Chiranjeevi again feature - the Daddy Mummy song is a lift from Chiranjeevi's last film Shankar Dada Zindabad. The Baba Sehgal number is from Chiranjeevi's brother's film Jalsa, released this year.

Vijay films are famous for switching Telugu hits in Tamil and Tamil hits in Telugu. In fact his appadi podu song of Ghilli was reproduced in a Ravi Teja film Krishna released for Pongal this year. This, when the original number was a hit in Andhra circle for all these years!!

Pavithra Srinivasan is not being condescending I hope when she says the songs are fit only for Vijay fans. This is because some of his songs are great chartbusters and this film too has good punch to last it for a long time

Pathetic Review!!!
by Sudarsan on Dec 25, 2008 07:27 AM  | Hide replies

So many mistakes in your review that your credibility is put in question. First, Vijay is a Tamil actor. He has never done a straight Telugu film at all. And the rest, there are quite a lot of spelling mistakes with your review (some obvious ones)

Second, you are fit to review albums like "Margazhi Raagam" or some other classical Carnatic music which focus only on the music. You need a reviewer (on Rediff) who takes into account the different styles brought into the songs because of Vijay. We have a new genre these days for kuthu songs (fast peppy songs) and reviews must be written taking them into account. I can also write a horrible review for a good carnatic album just because its not according to my taste.

This album deserves atleast 3 stars. Its a very peppy album, different from the usual peppy ones and has catchyness. A sure shot super-hit album (not only with Vijay fans, but with the general public overall). I can bet you that!

the reviewer tries to convey that the movies of vijay are nowadays copied from Telugu and so creates a buzz for various reasons including the issue on devi sri prasad copying well known tunes from telugu hit films. I don't how many of u are aware the the music director is from telugu industry.

Vijays Dance and Villu'S music
by rajiv natarajan on Dec 25, 2008 02:34 AM  | Hide replies

But it seems that Vijays dances were not good as old. Some times the steps were not have any relation with the tune(eg kuruvi songs and dance) compare this with khushi, gilli and thirumalai. It is more like that vijay will dance what ever he knows irrespect of songs.May be choreographer's mistakes. But i hope some good thing from prabhudeva.Anyone agree with me?

He he... thats a funny comment that I hear! He dances according to what the choreographer says. And I havent noticed any problems in his dance synchronising with the tune? They all do synchronise well. Of course, you cant just perform the exact same action as a particular line in a song states. The sync should be almost close and Vijay's songs do have them.
