War of Urbanites on rural Thailand
by kp kp on Dec 05, 2008 05:50 AM

Its not a war of country's poor against the elites. Its a war of urban elites against the rural base. Twice in a row, they have overthrown democratically elected governments. Its mob power against people's power.

Lessons to Learn
by The Fake Mahatma on Dec 04, 2008 11:54 PM  | Hide replies

All,

What I would like to point out here is the power of the people in Thailand. We should follow the same to pull down state or central governments if they are not working for the benefit of the people. If this happens a couple of times then the leaders/parties will automatically mend their ways.

For this to be successful people across the country should be united. This is the biggest problem in India. We are divided by Caste, Language and Religion. We should be more tolerant towards each other and realise that India will be great because of all of us and not by just one state/group of people.

There is so much social inequality too. Just as an example, how many of us treat our maids like humans? 0%! We behave as if they are born to be ill treated. The maid works for us and we pay her/him for the service. It should be that simple! Beyond that we are all the same. Just because the maid works for you does not mean you are better. Imagine your boss treating you like that!

Let us change and be united. I am doing my part. I don't differentiate between caste, color and language. I used to be.. but not anymore. Next comes religion. At this difficult time, it is easy for us to brand all muslims as rougues. But imagine.. if all of them were terrorists then we should hearing a much louder bang. Let us be sympathetic and try to help the innocent muslims. Without them we can not root out the rougue elements from the society. Our hatred only turns the moderates into rouges

Great Thoughts!!!!! these thoughts need to go to public...especially where the people are illiterate
I am deepak...well, I love my country as you and always thinks that it's we (common people) who can make a change rather than dependent on any party. afterall, it's we who dies in every blasts/attacks and not politicians. I really want to do something for my country before it's get more wounded. I am really looking for those people, who believes in this thinking, that "every individual can make a difference". why don't we people come openly and discuss what shuld be done to save our country rather than just chatting on discussion forms.
"India is my religion"; spread LOVE not hate

It is totally stupid to compare both incidents
by Guest on Dec 04, 2008 11:52 PM

It is totally idiotic and irresponsible to compare the 2 incidents and whatever is written about the thailand gov in that situation. God knows how they would have reacted had there been 10 terrorists firing at people. I cant believe how a person can be so insensitive and write an article like this. It shows only his insensitiveness to the lives lost and his non existent proudness to be an Indian.

What crisis management even US could do after 9/11??????.

We don't believe in learning, just in teaching.
There is nothing wrong in letting people suffer in the time of crisis. Otherwise how you would know it is time of crisis? When disaster like eartquake, floods, tsunami or terrorist attack happens, its because people are suppose to die and suffer. One must be crazy to think about providing temporary shelters, toilets and food to the people when you have still not counted how many people have died.

by Neha on Dec 04, 2008 09:40 PM

Its a different scenario altogether of when some anti govt peaceful protestrs block an airport AND when 10 maniacs shoot everyone they see in fron holding innocent lives at gunpoints.

PM For Australia Gets Tough
by rohit gaur on Dec 04, 2008 05:05 PM  | Hide replies

India Needs A Leader Like This ! ..???
Prime Minister John Howard - Australia

Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia , as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks.

Separately, Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques. Quote: 'IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians.'

'This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom'

'We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society . Learn the language!'

'Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.'

'We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us.'

'This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, 'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'.'

'If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted.'

Maybe if we circulate this amongst ourselves, Indian citizens will find the backbone to start speaking and voicing the same truths.

If you agree please SEND THIS ON and ON

to as much as Indians you know

We believe in Budha, Mahavir &Basavewar, they are integral part of our indian culture. They have denied VEDAS & GODS.Indians are mostly getting inspiration from all three preachers. But exploiter wrongly classify us as Hindus, with unacceptable Brahmnical culture, keeping us in darkness to exploit us.Due to their worst behaviour so many got convertd into Islam & chrischnity.M. Paigambar gave a good religion like islam which is hardly followed by only few hundreds;all others are blind followers. He postulated an hypothetical AllAH to intimidate the tribes in which even man eating tradition was common.Paigamber without ALLAH is acceptable as he preaches equality amongst human beings;as science has already prooved that there is no GOD or Soul! The new scintific system of SOCIALISM WITH MAN at its centre, as preached by KARL MARX IS the only way out!!! No Chrischnity,No Hinduism,NO Islam is going to save starving humanity from quarrels.
