Akshay Kumar is planning building a school for the children in a village in Punjab..when he found out that there is no school, this is the place where they had been for the shooting of the movie Namaste London..Some of our Bollywood start do what they can to help others but don't always believe in getting it printed in the papers...like Salman Khan & Jacky Shroff...What is it with us Indians..always facinated with the gora chamdi...so much so that we forget to praise our own people for the good that some of do...

Yes it is true that many of us do what we can within our limited means. But charity cannot remove poverty from our country. We have to change ourselves as a society and a nation.
Does he say there is no Gulf between rich and poor in his own Country. Has he seen how some of the Blacks are living in his own Country? Sorry for using the words Black used for they are the ones who are still oppressed lot in his country.

A black man was elected President. And he was a fatherless poor guy who worked hard. The US at least has opportunities for the poor.

I agree with you, blacks in america are still holding grudges against the whites and trying to punish them for what their ancestors went thru for their own advantage. I live in the US and have to say most of the blacks i've encountered and observed (in university setting, market place, restaurants, etc...) they are the most arrogant, selfish, loud and lazy. they keep blaming the whites for their troubles, when they don't work hard. Racism does exist, but if one looks at most of the immigrants in the US (even though they were in their 30's or older, had no chance of getting a college degree, didn't know anybody, didn't know english) they've still managed to become more successful than blacks who've been here for 300 yrs. they expect gov't welfare as their right so they'd rather not even work. they also rely on affirmative action to get jobs. if blacks would only change their image then others would change their perception about them too. so Mr. Menon blacks are not oppressed in US, they just choose to project that image that they are. the poor do have more opportunities in US than the poor in India, but ppl just choose not to take those oppertunities.

You wouldn't be living in the US if black people didn't struggle and die to win civil rights. What arrogant, selfish, loud and lazy people to do that for a lovely person like you.

Ofcourse there is a gap but not that much as india. Here the topic is india, not US. US handling efficiently their security aspects, while india fails. If you look into the roots of it, u will find this gap as a major reason.
