Let me add that Jayshree Gadkar, apart from being a leading Marathi actress for more than two decades, did quite a few Hindi films too, a fair sprinkling of social and mythological flicks. Among the ones where she played the leading lady were 'Saranga', 'Madari' and 'Private Secretary'. However, she made quite a name for herself in a series of mythological films where she either played one of the lead roles or strong side characters, notable among these were - 'Balram Srikrishna', Luv Kush', 'Tulsi Vivah', 'Hari Darshan', 'Maha Sati Savitri', 'Har Har Mahadev', 'Gayatri Mahima', among others. In fact, she was a regular fixture in almost every mythological of the late 60s and early 70s. Her strength lay in the ability to enact a wide variety of roles with deep, emotional undercurrents. Besides, she was blessed with a soft, charming face and a lovely smile that really carried. Her's is a major loss to the world of cinema.
realy great classic actress... Jayashree taincya aatmyas shanti labho hi ishwar charaani parathana.... Marathi classic cenamaa madhe nehami ajaramar rahatil ase kartutva ya kalakarani dile aahet... REDIFF CHE YA BADDAL YA SHATASHA AABHAR!
She was a very fine actress especially with Arun Sarnaik, Raja Gosavi & Suryakant. She played variety of roles and I was lucky to watch all her movies. There was very healthy competition those days. The only honour she missed like her compititor was she could not become a Sheriff of Mumbai.
By the way, I wonder why the champion of Marathi language and culture, Mr.Raj Thackrey is quiet. I guess speaking now wouldn't get him into the headlines.

So even when some one has passed away, you could control yourself, i would say may your soul find solace while your alive and may you live a peaceful life.
