by Maxlife on Oct 03, 2008 01:40 PM

Ya,, Mammootty is looking so young in mayabazaar movie! I cant just find out whats his age!!

My god i dont know how he became so young, am sure he is going make a big impact on Malayalam industry and he can make a second innings!

Its really un imaginable that one can look so young in his sixties!

Just simply perfect and fit to the role and i think all the other actors like prithvi needs to run for their money... after seeing ur come back in yhis young role!

All others talk here out of jealous, any one can say that u r young and became so young! Simply hot and cute!

I hv just seen the same old Mammoo in those late 70's and 80's.. U R still very young and cute !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sajad Plr
Mohanlal
by Sajad Plr on Aug 26, 2008 03:07 PM  | Hide replies

Mohanlal's acting makes the move a class apart. One of best ever roles of Mohanlal. Like CNN-IBN's Rajeev Masand said, "It is time for Bollywood actors to go and study what real acting is all about." That was a huge compliment.

Proposal bangalore
second classic from lalettan this year
by Proposal bangalore on Aug 26, 2008 05:29 AM  | Hide replies

2008 is a great year for mohanlal and malayalam cinema. After the unparalleled 'college kumaaran', here comes the magnificent aakaashagopuram.

The only other year when mohanlal had two classics was when 'vamanapuram bus route' and 'hariharan pillai happyaanu' were released.

Mohanlal needs to move to vistarama kind of productions. 70mm screens are just not enough more to display his assets.

"Naked is the king, the coward hides in his attire'

Ram Mohan
A classic for certain
by Ram Mohan on Aug 26, 2008 12:39 AM

i saw the movie yesterdarday and the theatre did not hav more than 15 ppl inside... and half of them left half way thru the movie hooling and shouting.... that overall showed the drastic change in veiwing standards of the malayalee audiences.... (sadnote)

the movie was par excellence, a visual beauty, terrific music, mezmerizing art direction, fantastic direction and screenplay and last but the best, the awesome actor lal is.. there's no comparison even among his international peers.. the subtleness and charishma he posseses are matched by none
one has to go neck deep into the multilayed story as well as the charector of albert samson to realize this work of art... the charecters of hilda and catherine are also wonderfully portrayed.. most charecters w'd look wonderfully simple, but indeed are quite complex...

the only grouses one can raise against the movie w'd be of the unnatural way of dialect presentation in the movie, thats quite dramaesque....
thats where KPK had to take a choice and he struck to the basics of the play...
kudos...
good movies are still live and kicking in malayalam and thats great for the serious movie goers in india....

one special praise for john altman....
woooffff... this guy is highly underated... same like our dear man lal....

Obviously a mohanlal hater. he wanted to trash the movie. Was so good enuf he couldn't get to do it. Therefore remarks in the passing and just 2.5 stars. Talk about un biased reviewing. Perfect A-ole

With such glowing review, why a half-hearted 2.5 star rating?
by Ratan on Aug 25, 2008 07:00 PM  | Hide replies

Rediff reviewers do it again. After writing a mostly glowing review, Paresh gives the movie a 2.5 stars. Is this an unwritten rule by Rediff editors for certain reviewers not to give good ratings?

The story seems extremely fascinating. I am sure Priyadarshan would be the first to get the pirated DVD this week, so that he can announce its Hindi version with Shah Rukh, Akshay Kumar or Akshaye Khanna (of course, without crediting the original makers as usual)! By adding 3 Punjabi songs and dozens of 'faltu' comedy sequences in the name of "Bollywoodisation", he can make it his own 'orighinal philim'.

Why not dub such movies into Hindi rather than make a mindnumbingly shoddy copy?

Priyan wants to make quick and easy money with least risk. He is candid enough to admit that.

Well, is he candid enough to admit that almost all his films have been copied from Malayalam films from the 80s' and 90s? barring a couple of films, which were originally made by him in Malayalam, all his other Hindi films have been shameless copies of Malayalam movies by other directors. He never once gave them credit for story and screenplay. People call his film Virasat as a classic! Well, watch the original Thevar Magan starring Kamal Hassan and directed by the late Bharatan and you will agree that he makes extremely crappy versions in Hindi.

you are right priyan suits north indian audiance. And in his case, I think, it is sour grapes about doing films in malayalam because he has not had a hit in malayalam in well over a decade.
