Utterly 'Craptastic' Review
by Bio Skope on Jun 24, 2009 02:31 AM

Was this review written by a 'fresh out of college' 20 something year old who cant empathize with a lot of things depicted in this movie? Of course the use of cellphone has to be regulated among kids. We're not talking about an 18 yr old here. It's a 14 yr old girl, who just like other 14 yr old girls are innocent enough to fall for the charms of the other sex, for whatever reasons. This reviewer clearly has no idea about the enormity of something as prevalent as 'marital discord' as it fails to touch a familiar vein with him. Do yourself a favour reddit and get people who can actually understand the relevance of a movie's theme to review it, instead of people who find valuable social messages to be 'preachy'. Rated 0 *s out of 5 *s for this crappy review.

Kannan
influenced by 'sreenivasan films'
by Kannan on Oct 06, 2008 05:27 PM

Good family entertainer.. But if u view this film closely.. u can c that akku akbar is very much influenced by director sreenivasan.. U can c many similarities between this film and 'chindavishtayaya shyamala' & 'vadakkunokkiyanthram'. This film is a mixture of the chindavishta and vadakkunokki.. The combination scenes between jayaram and gopika.. gopika's helpless father (innocent}.. his friends (3 in nos) coming to home with a bottle.. all these are taken from 'chindavishta..'. In this film.. hero is becoming mad trying to protect her daughter.. in vadakkunokki... it is wife (instead of daughter).. climax of both the films are almost same... This film is a nicely mixed cocktail of chindavishtayaya shyamala and vadakkunokki yanthram.. Akku akbar deserves and applause for mixing both in correct ratio..

A Must Watch Movie for the Family Audiences!!!
by Jitin Venugopal on Oct 05, 2008 11:53 PM

First of all, I am expressing my dissatisfaction for giving such a poor rating for a good movie which has been approved by the family audiences. It seems Mr. Paresh C Palicha is yet to go a long way in writing reviews for movies. This movie is a must watch for all people since it gives the audience a lot of good messages on relationships and matters related to it. I would give this movie a rating of 4 out of 5. Those who are yet to watch it, just try to take your parents along with you. They may also get a chance to change their lives in case they are having traits similar to the characters in the movie. So go and watch it!!!

Great Movie!!! but bad review by rediff!!!
by suhas s on Oct 03, 2008 01:00 PM

I watched this movie and I really liked it. Its been a long time since I watched a good movie in malayalam. It brings back those times when there were good movies like these back in 80's and 90's. There are lot of good messages for the audience. Some of the dialogues are very informative. Good performance by all. The movie gives importance for human relationships and the way things has to be taken in any Indian family especially any relationship and understanding between husband and wife, parents and children. It also shows how important is time in relationships. I don't know why rediff has rated this with just 2 and half stars. Its very bad rating. Probably, the person who gave the review didn't get into the shoes of the characters and think in their view and may not have realized the fact that each incident narrated in the movie is exactly what that runs in a normal Indian family. I haven't seen Rediff rating any movie with 4 stars or 5 stars. I suggest everyone to watch this movie.

This is not the right review for this movie
by rajesh on Aug 25, 2008 10:28 AM

why 2 and half stars only for this movie? This movies deserves 4 stars i think. One of the best family entertainer in the recent times. In rediff review movies like madambi also got 2 and half stars. So ur saying that madambi and this movie in the same platform?Disasterous rating this is.This movie is a lesson for veteran family directors like sathyan anthikkadu who nowadays mixes the same formula in his movies.Gireesh kumars tight script and akku akbars excellent picturisation provides a good out put in the end.Acting, music(except background score),cinematography departments are also on top..Overall this is a good family movie which delivers lot of punch messages which deserves a top position in the rating

Kakes
welcome back vintage jayaram
by Kakes on Aug 18, 2008 12:50 PM

jayaram was struggling seeing sand washed away under his feet.. with a series of flops.. and finally he got something to cheer.. this is a good film.. preachy or not... a film that is simple, relevant and entertaining... after a long long time... its such a relief.. i am also impressed with the matured performance from gopika... hope the support of family audienc for this film, will help malayalam film makers to think and rework their scripts and approach.. atleast such films are not a torture, which most of the recent malayalam films (inluding the so proclaimed superhits).. Apart from some amateurish writting and some glitches of a debutante director ... it's a welcome relief

Cockeyed review.
by Lonely Stranger on Aug 17, 2008 02:31 PM

Mr Palicha should have been trained properly by the rediff before giving him the task. This review is ridiculous and he is NOT fit to do the work. What does he mean by the word PREACHY?he uses the word PREACHY to demerit the movie often in this review[by the way what is this review all about?].This movie is a welcome relief for each and everyone from the weary past-the sell date OLDIE superstar movies. It is a great alleviation for each mallu movie goesrwho loves to see a feel good movie. Its high time for the rediff to sack these useless review writers.

WTF???
by Vinu on Aug 12, 2008 10:16 PM

This is an awful review of a good film. I dont know what Palicha expects from a movie. Whatever he does, this is a real stupid review that makes no sense whatsoever.

Irrespective of what the ridiculous review says, the film is a big hit all across Kerala.
