Shobhaa De has really caught people's eye by her latest book on India. She has moved aaway from her ususal style and brought out an excellent must-read book. Congratulations to her for the warm, touching and down to earth book.
Without this Big B, india and indian movie industry would be just a big bore and hollow. This guy has guts and tolerance unseen anywhere in west. Why his own people are not with him and they are with these Khans who alwyas seems to have agenda and with support of gandhi family these khans ego has goen to sky. Truly, big b is a jam of india.
Let us not kid ourselves - we are just being 'luminous', star before a section of international investors - stardom is far off. True we have several of the world's super riches but 30% of the the country's population are BPL and perhaps 20% go to sleep hungry every day. In Mr. Bachan's words, 10 milions girls have 'disappeared' and there is no true statistics about our literacy level. Charity not needed. Would the cream of the society please come down to ground level and meet the 'other Indians' at their level rather than from their cosy perches? Do you have the sincerity and courage?

Your speech would be inspirational if you set an example by adopting one or two or more maybe abandoned girl babies and giving them the privileges of being your family members. Let your son do the same. You have the financial means to do so - many with noble intentions cannot but you and your rich friends can. Get them all to adopt girl babies, open institutions for them. Salman Khan's family and Mithun Chakraborty adopted girls and brought them up as their own. Why don't you? It would inspire thousands of your admirers to follow suit. It would earn you a place in their hearts and in heaven.

First let Bacchan practise what he is preaching. To be powerful in a slightly oversized regional film world (which is what bollywood is nothing more) where the rich and powerful get their say is ok- Bacchan has achieved it. But does he deserve to be a role model for the entire country- certainly NO considering his gol maals....pretending to be farmer to loot the govt, evading taxes, association with shaddy Mullu, Amar and also Ketan Parekh to save his ABCL, Cheating the Spastics society of India...the list goes on. It's ok if his fans want to paint him as immortal Big B, but to us outside of that 'intoxicated' group he is just a cheat, not worth the title of national hero at all!

Vasant...you are right..jisko jo bolna hai bol sakta hai..actor wactor, hero veero sab gaya tel lene..bachchan is not my role model..he never was..mere role model ka dost sala amar singh nahin ho sakta..na sala koi uchakka jo farmer bol ke land khareede..jiska photo akhbar main chap gaya wahi hero hai..kahe in logon ke liye jaan dete ho aap..jab self respect nahin to apko kya respect karenge ya apke vicharon ko..

Mr. Vasantgopal....why don't you bring out your life (including your family if you have any to the world) We will then judge how perfect you are. With all the things you said against Mr. Bachchan, I proudly say that I still want to make him my role model. You have problem with that? Who is your role model in current world or India or your family? Why did you even click in this article? All of us want to become Amitabh Bachchan in whatever we do. He is our national hero. Bring your life history here and let us judge whether you are cheat or sadhu. Do you pay your taxes properly?
