Renuka is gre8 actresses but she had wasted her carrier due to drinking wine daily . So she was not in film industry for last few years .. Her hubby Ashitosh Rane is also good actor. the generation of today does not get to see anything good, each n other channel are showing something or other stupid things and the advt in between are the most headache; double meaning advt;

You wouldnt have said so, had you been well informed. Marathi movies are doing excellently well, and are earning in crores these days (That too without cheap songs/dances and cheapster publicity stunts) Marathi audience is the best audience and never let down good work. no fanaticism, no stupidity, no faking... sheer admirers of TRUE ART.

The first film "Raja Harishchandra" in India was mute, but was originally recorded in Marathi. So as far as history goes it was the mother langauge of filmmaking.
Secondly it still thrives. Just bcoz u r ignorant of the fact that it still makes money and you being geographically limited to Mumbai with ur pinch of knowledge about regional films, doesnt mean its dead.

The first movie to be created in India was a marathi movie (though the movie was not a talkie, as there was no sound recording, but was directed by a mararhi director (dadasaheb Falke), the copmplete crew was mararhi and the movie was showcased in Maharashtra, also the script was based on a Mararhi novel). Marathi movies have come a long way post the first movie. Although Marathi film industry is not in its golden era, but undoubtedly it is doing very well. Most creative and original scripts are finding their way to the screen, and believe me, the cinematography as well as other technical aspects have been magnificent these days. The marathi films are attracting the young crowd which has long been away from the marathi movies, (one of the reasons, being the receptiveness of the Marathi population towards Hindi, and their love for bollywood). Lemme remind you that two of the Marathi movies have been nominated for the Oscars, which is a great feat for regional movies.

Yes u r right Mr.Chaitanya, johnson is bigest idiot. The first movie to be created in India was a marathi movie.& I thing Marathi director is very brilliant.
