In India Cows should be in Go-Ashrams not on the streets.
Go-ashrams should be on the outskirts of cities and have pastures/meadows for grazing , a veternarian and milking and feeding stations.
Cows should be protected and looked after in these Go-Ashrams as long as they live.
Policy should be made to corral wandering stray cows in cities and hand them over to these Go-Ashrams for caretaking.
If someone comes forward and says this it was his cow that was running loose, a case of negligence should be booked against him and he should be fined for letting it loose.
The NATIONAL DEMOCRATIC WORKERS PARTY under the leadership of Netaji- Vishnu Sharma will designate the Day after Krishna Janam Ashtami as Go Mata Divas.
We encourage people all over India to engage in cow feeding and worship on this day.
We will soon be filming a documentary on this where we will show an ideal go-ashram and also show our SHRIVATSA flags being consecrated by touching them to the horns of cows and also feed a 108 cows.
It will be shown with melodious music playing in the background.
Our Netaji will preside over the who ceremony where a 108 cows all lined up are fed in using a long trough and also given water.

Dear Sharmaji, I wish everyone understands your good intention. Thanks for your efforts and best regards for good cause in the socity. But am not sure how many people in Hindu religion understands the importance of sacred cow & your efforts. If its a political news, this message board would have been sooo active, now see, just 5 msgs!I pity at our Hindu friends.
Sharmaji, you can also refer to the efforts of 'Sri Ramachandrapur Mutt's (from Karnataka) effort on saving the cows. The first ever Vishwa Gow-Sammelan was organized by SRI RAGHAVESHWARA BHARATHI SWAMIJI, in April 2007. Kindly google, so that you can get the contact.
I regularly read your msgs here, thanks for all the scholerely writings.

i am not sure if u relly mean it or u are tring to be funny coz of ur last paragraph. if u r trying to be funny, its quite mean because i see many hapless cows on the roads without even water and resorting to chewing on plastic.

yes we need to preserve our heritage and protect GO Mata.
Cows roaming freely are a health hazard and should be shot,Skin turned to leather and the meat converted to feed dogs and cats. Or the owner should be made to look after the cow till it dies and not just thrown out to roam freely. Forget this Gau mata business, cook it and put it in hamburgers. If Indians can eat cow in the west they can also eat in the east. Come to UK and Europe and you will see all religions eating beef steaks,Beef pies,Beef burgers. Restaurants are full of indians eating beef.

Sheetal roaming freely is another health hazard and should be shot. Sheetal's internal organs should be used for human hamburgers.

Kerala serves the best beef in India. I tasted it on my last visit to the state. I am salivating now just thinking about it. Anyone planning a visit to Kerala, i suggest u try Beef fry with Kerala parathas. It was so juicy and tender. Just divine. hmmmm.

Right Kerala also has some of the worst fanatics from various beef eating faiths, no wonder you liked the taste. Birds of a feather flock together. Oh and many Hindus do eat birds.

Sheetal, that was NOT in good taste. Many Indians, even after staying in the west for many years, still do not eat beef. Its just one's own personal choice, just bcos u r out of yr homeland dsnt mean u forget all yr values or customs. Adaptation is one of the keys to survival, whenever one is in foreign land. But I do not think in the process of doing that one has to suddenly start disrespecting.

Although the language used by Sheetal is not appropriate, the message does have a point. There is no animal on this planet that doesnt have a predator. Even ultimate hunters like tigers are hunted down by humans. And if an animal doesnt have a predator, obviously its population will thrive and will disturb nature's balance. That's what is happening in India. Cows are everywhere... on roads, footpaths, markets and do pose hazards. Since hindus dont eat beef and the govt. cant risk communal tensions by allowing open sale, there should atleast be a policy allowing beef exports. The animals can be well taken care of, bred and/or worshipped if their numbers are in control. Right now, sadly it is utter chaos in Indian cities due to stray cattle. One of my uncles was killed by a stray cow. And they continue to hurt people and cause accidents with no check on them. And yes, bitter it may sound, only way to control cow population effectively is to have a controlled slaughter mechanism. I dont understand why this beef idea outrages the same people who kill chicken and goat and eat everything from its liver to brain!! Funny...

Go to kerala, you will see how people are craze for beef. It is better not to impose one's belief forcefully on others. If you think cow is god, it is your individual belief. For that matter you cannot except that everyone should follow you.
RE:Roaming Cows
by sanchita datta on Apr 24, 2008 10:47 AM
Nobody is telling you to follow anybody...whether to eat beef or not is entirely one's own choice.Just do not be disrespectful...to THAT CHOICE.
The roaming cow should be seen as way ahead of it's time, providing recycling of leftovers around many houses. The roaming cow is more environmentally friendly than throwing rubbish and letting it go to waste at dump site out-of-sight. Even if a cow does slow traffic, it is a reminder to be tranquil in life and not be in a hurry but to enjoy life.

Cow is our traffic regulator. Highway petrol is US makes sure nobody is going too fast.. In India cow does it.. Indian traffic is regulated without paying high salary. Also, while police can be corrupt in India, cow does not discriminate.

What you have stated is a well known lie that was propagated by the west to demean India and push the blame on us for the pollution they cause!
Even if you consider the baseless charge they've made, its not the Indian cows that are the problem - the west rears too many cows and slaughters those innocent animals for consumption.
