Our serials are Villain-oriented
by HariOm Chawla on Apr 09, 2008 09:05 PM

Our serials are neither Hindu oriented, nor Muslim oriented, but villain-oriented. In all the serials, the villains/vamps are more intelligent, crafty, cunning, while the heroes are dumb and have less than a normal person's IQ. The heroes do not understand even what is obvious and and are suffering and weeping all the time.

What message do these serials convey? None. Perhaps they do teach that if you want to succeed, be a villain/vamp in the family. Why are Afghans afraid of these illogical stories. Their viewership is rapidly declining even in India.

Serials

Ofcourse, these serials are such a waste of time. none of them carry a positive message towards the society.

The Taliban may have left Afghanistan, but are still there in India. The Taliban of India are the ones from Thakeray group. What is the difference between Taliban and these Mumbai blokes? The former needlessly smashed Buddha idols and the latter demolished Babri mosque. Both of them attacked other religions, and hurt millions of hearts. To hell with both of them.

Hey!! V H or whatever (I don't care).

I am better that you. Atleast, I have not cut short my name (V H huhhh!!!). Naam chhota likhte ho to kaam bhi chhota hi karte hoge. Grow up.

I just want to say that both are extremists.

Meri na Taliban se ristedaari hai aur na Thackeray se. I am against both of them.

Tumhari rishtedari kis ke sath hai??

yes, there is an overdose of poojas in hindi serials which is readily noticed by anyone who watch the serials.

with or without reason hindi serials especially the K serials showa poojas on the drop of a hat.day one a pooja in one serial ,day 2 another pooja in another k serial and it is like this 7x365.its good to promote culture.but it is not healthy if it is to promote communism subtley.because india is a secular state.but watching the serials it can be seen that its an overdose of pooja culture.even the faithful hindus along with other faith fllowers who enjoys these serials and poojas realy daoubt the intention.afghanistan is an islamic country so they have their rules.its okay with them.but india is not a hinu country, its secular so everything should be secular

TV Serial is not forced upon anybody. Why do you watch it grudgingly? Turn off your TV and save yourself of headache and save electricity for nation. Alternatively, make a TV serial showing muslims in a hindu home following christian culture wearing turbans like Sikhs thereby promoting secularism. Any serial maker eyes on commercials from where he can get some money. They don't make serials for votes in elections.

Yes they promote Hindu Culture minus polygamy and illegitimate children. It would an offense to any religion to show these in serials.

Extra marital relations existed long before TV came. have you not heard of men fron aristocratic families visiting prostitutes? Only difference is women are also shown to have that.

They may not promote polygamy but they promote extra marital relations which without the responsibilities involved in polygamy is much more lecherous and harmful for the society.

The trend does have at least 35% people bored of the K-serials.

Maybe you got enough money to put on a shaadi with baaza-gaaza, but sorry, many folks taking it in.

Unless someone voices, this type of crap news gets attention. It does not matter if Afghan bans the TV shows or not. They have their own right and our RIGHT is to ignore it.

theay are totally right because ISLAM totally rejects the worship of idols in any form and hindi serials just show idol worship which reflects only hinduisim.I don't know when will these serial makers learn that not only hindus, but muslims and christians also live in india and make a significant proportion of the population and that they should also reflect their feelings, sentiments and festivals in a proper way rather than plainly ignoring them or making fun of them.

India is predominantly Hindus. That is what goes. Most of the American movies show churches and wedding in church because US is predominantly Christian.Though US is secular. No body complains.

yes the Indian television is showing the hindu culture and festivals but thats not the only comunity that stays in India. So basically the production house should think more than the people. People do say good and bad things. Tell me that are the serials having any ethical morals about what they are showing. Does the cultural ethic say what they show. So it not people to think it is the production house to think what they are showing and propogating.

this is a ridiculous poll. Why should we bother about the feelings of a religious group who have destroyed Afghanistan? Indian serials are for Indians. If other countries want to watch them ,go ahead but they should keep their opinions to themselves.
