Mohini, I need you to widen your horizon of thinking at the same time of understanding from different angles. The Islamic law is not barbaric in the least degree because it is secure the integrity & dignity of women, it is to protect women from molestation,teasing,rapes etc.Today the statistics tells us that on an Average American men have sex with 8 girls before he settles down with one(after marriage statistics was not given) do you call it a freedom?? Hi ricky, You have to understand islam from authentic sources ie muslim sources read holy quran. islam in arabic means wilful submission to one and only creator of heaven and earth. Did u read the word wilful, becoz God knows the intention of the heart. It doesnot make sense to forcefully submit ones will to God. becoz from inside no one knows except God. Also in Quran it is clearly said. There is no compulsion in religion, truth is clear from error. I request all peace lovers that there is no use in defending our religion or attacking others. People base their views on what they percieve , no smart alec answer can change the beliefs carved in their minds about islam. so leave it to them , for them to realise and move on.
people in this forum are being offended, i think we have to learn to take criticism in our stride and respond in a civilized manner. It is also important that criticism doesnot mean that one start abusing other with filthy words rather should be constructive, logical etc. The problem is anything that contradict our belief kind of trigger the hatred, which should not be there. we all say we are for truth so when we are for truth why are we not ready to listen other people.
