South isnt entirely original either...
by Jimmy Sharma on Apr 02, 2008 03:35 PM  | Hide replies

ok one thing is the person who is making such film is a south indian, isnt he?

Secondly South Indian film industry isnt entirely original, in first place. One Kannada industry does something , tamil, telegu, malayali copy it and vice versa. Also I can list 5 orignal Marathi films which south indian directors have copied themselves ... do u want the names?

Kalakshanam - kshan (Marathi)
Friendship - Bindhast (Marathi)
Untitled Kamal Hasan Film - Munnabhai MBBS (Hindi) - Doctor Doctor (Marathi Play)
Avargal - Ghatasfot (Marathi)
Evano Oruvan - Dombivli fast (Marathi)

South Movies Do Not Get a WorldWide Release, In Comparision to South Movies, Bollywood Movies Get WorldWide Release.Which is Big, South Movies Or Bollywood?????????????

So Who Should Copy From Whom????????????

If U Say this, Accept Bollywood is a Piece of SHIT????????????, Tollywood is 1000 Times Better than Bollywood?????????????

Accept that People who Watch South Movies are Intelligent Than People Who Watch Bollywood Movies

Accept It???????????????????????

Mac I disagree with you again...I agree that there have been some path breaking efforts on part of Southen films...but not all films are worthy...consider the latest release Nagarjuna's'Don'...Would you say its better than Amitabh Bachchan starrer Don...No...U just cant draw parallels between the different film industries

Inspired is Different and Copying is Different.

In Ur Exams If Ur Friend Gets 90% and U Get 70%, U WIll Be Inspired By Him/Her to do Better than Him/Her and Prove that U Get 95% in Ur Next Examination.

But U StarightAway Take Ur Friend's Answer Paper and Start Copying , Then is It Inspiration.

There is Huge Gap Between Inspiration and Copying.

Sholay was Inspired from Magnificent 7, Which has a Complete Different Story, Partner is a Copy of Hitch, Print to Print, Is It Inspiration???????????????

But would it be fair that a piece of great work...in this case the film is just restricted to regional audience since Bollywood film goers are alien to the lingo.... film has a universal appeal.... so it would be wrong to discard it off just as a piece of crass imitation

Not At All, U Remake and Take out 1000 Versions U Want, But Give Credit Where it is Due, While Publicizing SRK and Juhi's COmpany Should Mention That it is a Remake of South Movie, They Should Mnetion When was it Released.

Rediff Should Also Mention That it is a Remake of KathaParayumBol, As they did with Bhool Bhulaiya, They Should Run Articles On this And Give Credit to Original.

Which I think Both SRK and Redsiff Will Not.

Bcoz They want to Fool the Audience By Doing Dhanda?????????????

yup, its true....'Billo Barber' is the remake of Mammootty satrrer 'katha parayumbol'. But when a film can be remade in Telugu and Telugu, what's the hitch in making it accessible to Bollywood audince...after all a work of art is for all to enjoy

Dear Rahul & Grey Cells. I have an humble request. Please do not comment on any individual they way you both have done. It might be that he (Rich Man) has not got a command over English as you guys have, but at least he has not let that be an obstacle in expressing his views. Respect an individual for the content he has and not by the dress he wears.

Also, what's amazing is that the sentence formation is kind of ok... if the same person said that orally we would have simply taken it for a typical accent and nothing more... either Rich Man intentionally wrote it that way or simply transliterated his "spoken" English to get over lack of skill in written English...

Juhi is a far far superior actress than Amisha Patel. How can you utter both these names in the same breath??

I am sure Juhi will do full justice to the role Meena did in the original.

rediff had earlier given the news that the Malayalam movie Kathaparayumbol was going to be made in Bollywood starrring SRK. They have also given an interview with its script writer and lead actor Srinivaasan. Actually Mammootty is having only a guest appearance in the original and Srinivaasan has the lead role.

Juhi to replace Amisha in Billo Barbar?
by drunken monk on Apr 02, 2008 02:16 PM  | Hide replies

Sharukh's modesty shows in the photograph sitting next to Juhi. Respect for senior. Is this story seems pretty much like Kada parayumbol. Priyadarshan gets all the Copyright from south and sells in Bollywood.

Priyadarshan is a good fastsecond.

mallu directors like Sddique - Lal - Fasil etc should sue Priyan ! Priyan sometimes copies some comic scenes altogether from some mallu movies and then just translate it to hindi ! I guess it is ok as far as he remakes his own movies.
