DOES paheli deserve to go to the oscars???? if paheli can so can eklavya...becasue eklavya is a far more superior film then that nonsense bribed jury of paheli .......

sadij khan...big mouth ...heyy babby..is copy of 3 man and a baby..so you have no right to blast mr chopra ...also no point in comparing the figures of yeteryears to your heyy babby...things are different now
chak de india---just see any hollywood sports film and you can see where this movie is coming from ...like the might ducks ....but then if pahelis blunder has been done then for sure eklavya is far more supperior product

you cannot defend one movie by criticising others...count the merits of this movie rather than demeaning others...dharam was a far better movie wiht a good subject...Eklavya was a foolish attempt to cast all the stars avaialble at a single point of time...only good visulas dont make a good movie..u need a story as well...

Corruption everywhere
by Ajay Satpute on Oct 01, 2007 06:44 PM  | Hide replies

Its pretty unfortunate that corruption has spread its root in all fields in India. If a movie like "Eklavya" can be sent to Oscar, then 50% of the movies made in Bollywood can be sent to Oscars.
We're just making sure that we stand no chance of even making the final 5 by sending such entries to Oscars. First shock was Paheli and Eklavya is the next one.
Its better that we stop sending movies to Oscar to avoid the embarrassment or we take a training from the actual Oscar committee on how to nominate a movie for Oscars.
I feel sorry for Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Its not his mistake, its the corruption.

Who's Vinod Pande to speak on Vinod Chopra?
by dhaval on Oct 01, 2007 06:43 PM

"Filmmaker Vinod Pandey could be the next filmmaker in the centre of controversy. Just to remind you, Pandey is the maker of films like Ek Baar Phir, Ek Naya Rishta and Sach . Apparently Pandey is now producing and directing a film titled Sin , which will be based on the controversial subject of a priest seducing a young girl - and, according to inside sources, the film is going to have plenty of erotic scenes in it. The girl's role is being done by Los Angeles-based Seema Rehmani (yes, she is Indian), and the director claims that Sin is based on a real life incident that happened down South. A whisper insists that a very big production / distribution house may, most probably, help in distributing this one. With that kind of backing, we think Pandey is going to have more than a 'sinful' time at the box-office!"
- excerpt from %u2013 TIMES OF INDIA, 26 Nov 2004

IS IT THE SAME VINOD PANDE WHO IS NOW ON TELEVISION SCREAMING OUT ABOUT HIS OPINION ON WHAT IS GOOD CINEMA. HOW HAS HE BECOME AN AUTHORITY ON GOOD CINEMA. Maybe it is the fact that Eklavya is not his kind of sinful cinema that he does not like about it. Also, maybe he has something sinful to do with Bhavna Talwar which provokes him to like her film more than any other film in the country at this point in time.
