Let us spend more time on updating our knowledge and doing good to others rather than wasting our time on cinema and discussion on cinema... nowadays, all channels have programmes associated with cinema... and since it reaches the very homes.. the family mindset is directly affected... moreover, because we do not understand between democracy and popularity, we elect actors/actresses or persons associated with cinema as our leaders... this is based on the false charisma that movies impress...we are not a ultra modern society that can mentally cope with entertainment as a separate aspect... So i implore to rediff and other websites/agencies to give less attention to cinematic news...
be a positive contributor to indian society... and for those of your guys who are fighting over actor/actresses, there is only one thing i would say - all the stars have vested self interests in the world of filmdom... they are not serving the society by making movies... so quit chirping and stop making real heroes out of "reel" heroes...

Now with greetings out of the way, please watch City Of Joy (Om Puri), Leage of Extraordinary Gentlemen(Naseeruddin Shah..excellent role) , Missisipi Masala(Roshan Seth).. i am sure there are more.. Please bear in mind that international cinema means western cinema(which is sad but true) and indians only show up in roles where an indian is needed (otherwise it will be too much work for make up artists trying to make them look like white or black guys ...j/k)..

Supriyo.. mate thats not true... south indian cinema has always had better quality overall than bollywood. I said overall because you just can't compare south's c class movies to bollywood best movies just to support your arguement.. a lot (if not most) of the good hindi movies are remake of south indian movies and Kamal Hasan is the best ever actor born in India. No one can even come close to him, not even amitabh,shahrukh khan or Rajanikant, just watch Pushpak,Appuraja and Sadma. You are right about the rule of muslims in Spain. There's a viewpoint that but for muslims fundamentalist Christians would have killed of all modern advances in technology. The church was so dominant at that point of time that so many scientists/ researchers who had a different opinion were killed. You are right on the rule of muslims being a good period, but then the movie in the above article mentions fundamentalists in Christianity. You just read the word religious fundamentalist & thought it was about Muslims.

wat the hell is going on ..y we r compairing amitabh and rajnikanth while rejanikanth had almost copied him most of the films.. SRK had shown his stature in CHAK DE which was decalred biggest hit of the year not that so called sivaji... i know from beginning that sivaji will be only hype, and some regional rage. and for others i don't want to talk who are they do any people from villages of india (exacpt south ) do know them.

Yes they cannot match because they cannot drive after drinking alcohol like Salman Khan and kill innocent people.They also cannot kill innocent animals.They also cannot match because they are not philanderers like Saif Ali Khan and Amir Khan who ditch their wives for younger women.Only bollywood actors can behave like stray dogs and so Mamooty and Mohanlal cannot match them.

who's denying that don, INDIA is one... and whatever is hit on PAN india basis should be accepted as India's choice. By that bollywood practically rules from kashmir to kanniyakumari... that doesn't mean actors like mamoothy are not better than the bollywood actors. But you gotto accept INDIA's verdict on this.... 'coz you are an Indian first right ?

Guys, every actor is great. Rajkumar/ Mohanlal/ Chiranjivi/ Rajnikath's greatness doesn't reduce the stature of Amitabh/ Shahrukh Khan. It's like saying that Sachin Tendulkar is greater than Dhyanchand or that Tiger Woods is greater than Mohammed Ali. All are great performers & have performed in different eras, under different circumstances & have done it better than anybody else in their respective era. Pl don't compare apples with oranges. Let's savour the acting skills of these great performers without having to rank them.
Now its hig time Shekhar Kapoor makes a Indian movie. Its been long time and I hope he will make a Indian movie soon. I hope this film Elizabeth 2 brings him great laurels and to the country.

It's highly laughable when you say this film can bring laurels to the country. For this to happen this guys should make a cracker of a film with indian stars with an indian theme which could be lapped up by the so called western audience.
