His music has a soft lilting quality . In the recent past , Rehman's best music has been with Rang De basanti and with Bhagat Singh. And that's quite a long time ago.
And to think that karishma got a national award for screeching in Raja Hindustani.
Waheeda rehman is a good woman, but never a great actress. She was always brooding like Guru dutt.There was no vivacity in that lady. She was old and mature even when she was 16 i think.

Waheeda Rehman was a legend. Watch Guide, Teesri Kasam, Kaagaz Ke Phool, and Chaudvin Ka Chand. She is LEAGUES ahead of Jaya Bachchan. Karishma Kapoor was a brilliant actress. Anyone who doesn't think so needs to see Zubeidaa, Fiza, Raja Hindustani, and Biwi No. 1 right away. Rani and Knonkona cannot compete with Karishma. Kareena is a poor actress in all respects and doesn't even have one percent of the talent or beauty Karishma had.

I saw all those Waheeda Movies. Guide is probably the one where she shone as an actres or performer. RAll other movies, it was a director's canvas.
Karishma in Fiza, she was not believable as someon on the hunt for a brother. In fcat jaya getting shocked with th ereality of her son was the best scene enacted in the movie. Even hrithik asking pardon and standing in the firing line was brilliant. Crying and crying to put sense into some one, no negotiator does that. Only movie karishma did something way beyond her was in Shakti or something, one where she has to run away from the feudal clutches of nana patekar. She had to run with 5-6 year old boy in her arms, she did credit to that role.

BR, you're being so biased. Karishma OWNED Fiza all the way. She ate Jaya and Hrithik alive. They were so embarassed by the fact she stole the film from them that they vowed to never work with her again (and they never did). Karishma was a brilliant actress. The facts prove it. She won the National Award for Dil To Pagal Hai. She won the Filmfare Best Actress for both Raja Hindustani and Fiza. She was the Queen of the box office as she she had countless superhits and blockbusters (Raja Hindustani, Dil To Pagal Hai, Judwaa, Biwi No. 1, Raja Babu, Hero No. 1, Haseena Maan Jayegi, and SO many other films).

Get real. Krishma overacted in every movie. Acting is when somebody is perfoming a role you cannot tell if she is Konkana Sen or the real character in the movie. She makes you forget that she is Konkana Sen because she looks so real. Krishma looked and performed like krishma in every movie. Acting comes with depth and understanding of human nature not with attitude and shallowness.

Krishma and Kareena no class, no acting. They treat everybody like **it and are too high on themselves for nothing
See Metro and traffic Lights to see what Konkana can do. She is a star although not of the likes of the glam girls. Even a simple scene like that of looking out of the autorickshaw in metro is so charming.

BTW, I can imagine a woman hesitating in an extrmarital affair. but a woman in her 30s trying to look immature like a 20 year old, is not mature acting.

That was her role and is directed by the director. This was first time she was falling in love and was naive in this area. I do not call that immature. I think they fell in love in most natural way.

That's completely incorrect. Shilpa's role was the simplest. She was believable in the last scene thgouh, when she says goodbye from the railway stairs.
But Konkana acted the regular 'want-to-meet' guy, but cannot-get-one, and then having a pal in Khan, and did not believe it could lead anywhere till the last, so when she raced in the auto, and when she tried to the groom in a very down-to-earth manner; She was intense, light-hearted, sensible and funny all the same time.

Yes. Unfortunately people will go for mindless Rakhi Swant instead of a gem like Konkana. She does not get her fair share of credit. Her stunning perfomance in Onkara left me speechless for few hours. She is a class act and I wish her all the luck.
i enjoyed it. good review by Raja. there is another pop album - Rang Rangeeli Yeh Duniya - that i bought after seeing it's video on B4U. It's by a new artist called Giju. Man, this guy is goood..!!! he is an excellent singer and an amazing dancer.. perfect blend of salsa and hindi pop in the title song.. very very cool.. other songs are excellent too.. someone should write a review on it.. raja..?
Another Hopeless Movie from the stable of Yash raj seems that he is regressing to 80's when he made disasters like vijay and silsila.The pathetic rani mukherjee in lead supported by monotonus jaya and her actingless son.this movie is a disaster by all means.poor YRF..

Pathetic Rani! Forgotten Black already?? Certainly seems so. I am no big fan of Abhishek; but when you see Konkona, Rani and Jaya (all great actresses) together along with Pradeep Sarkar, you can be assured that this is going to be a good movie.

I think this movie will be good with 3 women(Bengalis with cultural depth) who really know how to act. If running around the trees and jumping around singing stupid songs is the idea of a good movie for you then yes I agree this is not the movie for you.

Jaya Bachchan is a poor actress. Waheeda Rehman, Hema Malini, Smita Patil, and Mala Sinha ARE much better actresses than jaya.
