Bubu's talent showed then itself
by Anjan Dattagupta on Sep 03, 2007 04:24 PM

He was different from many and that showed in his approach. He was dead serious in everything. We had a very good time at Mukherjeeda's shop where the famous Bengali Adda used to take place after office hours and especially during weekends where everybody used to assemble for chitchats along with tea and snacks. Then there was cricket, chess tournaments organised. I hope Bubu must have the group photograph with him taken after one tournament final. Wish him all the best in his endeavour.

A terrific fielder at Mid On
by Anjan Dattagupta on Sep 03, 2007 04:16 PM

He must have remembered those days when we played cricket at B Block Ground and the tournament which started from Mukherjeeda's shop at A Block Market. He was a terrific fielder at Mid On and took some great catches. If anybody dared hit in his region, the batsman would straightway head for pavillion. I remember the special holi match when the fielders were more interested in taking 'hard' drinks beside the boundary line than fielding. Even umpires and batsmen were looking for drinks and ultimately the match was wrapped up. I also remember the cassette brought out by Ratnoda, Satuda, Mithu and all which was pretty good attempt.
