This is one of the best movies of this year. Therefore, this miserly 2 and half star rating by the reviewer displays definite western bias by most English language reviewers, who would not refrain from quoting at least one English movie to claim how knowledgeable they are about other cultures and how ignorant they are about Indian culture. Stop rating Indian movies based on western sensibilities - there are enough western reviewers ignorant enough to label all Indian movies are musicals.
johnny gaddaar was also a good movie by sriram raghavan who gave us ek hasina thi. its an excellent gripping thriller. i cant believe films like these are flopping while crap hey baby and partner are super hits.
indians think they have got modern over the past 10 yrs, but mentally still backward. we still think sardar jokes are funny. these films are balatantly racist and in no way represent true sikh/punjabi culture. we still go for play it safe stupid vulgar type movies. shame.
Jab we met might be a regular story but its very very refreshing. If you are young (at heart) enough you are bound to fall in love with two main characters. It makes you remember DDLJ days when Sharukh was young and he didn't had much hold on overseas territory. I think its a very refreshing break from SRK kind of romantic movies. I will recommend this movie to everyone.
