what is so cheap about it? she is protecting her interest. would you be happy if someone uses your items without your permission??
Nowhere in Harry Potter's book there is a photo of Hogwarts Castle. So it cannot come under intellectual property rights. Harry Potter and his associates are international charcters now like Tintin and Co. The Puja pandal simply displayed them for temporary enjoyment of lot of fans and not for any commercial venture (there is no sale of tickets for this pandal) or any personal gain. Hence the case seems to be a mis-directed one. Even if it upholds the intellectual property right of the author, it will definitely hurt the emotional property rights of thousands of children, who are eagerly waiting to have glimpses of these fairy-tale heroes.

All bongs assume their literature is the greatest. Which is funny considering almost all of it is trite. And yes, i have yet to meet a SINGLE bong (they migrate in thousands to Mumbai each year despite their so-called 'love of Kolkutta or whatever they call that dustbin of a city). An amusing, largely obese, illiterate race.
Rowling herself is the grossest kind of copyright violation in the present era. She uses materials ranging from ancient and medieval folklore, mythology, alchemic history to what not. Too bad the copyright laws were not formulated then and we don't have a Time Machine to boot, or else we'd have had Pythagoras and the Alchemists and Shakespeare and who not sueing and screwing her (in the Legal sense) to armagedddon. One small example would suffice. The alleged creator of the Philosopher's Stone in the eponymous novel by Rowling was a real time Alchemist of repute in Europe of the 13th Century. What say Miss? Your slip doth showeth, methinks!

Good one Ayan, I'm sure a lot of those ideas must've come from some past stories elsewhere. Fun to read your post.

I think she is being stupid and thats all. She should be happy that other got ideas from her work and this was a way to recognize her popularity . She should forget about making money at times and just bask in some glory. Abe kitni athanni chahiye tujhe.. Main bhejoon yahan se bakse bhar bhar ke.

By sayingt this u r proving that u r the most stupid person.U have said she is not popular. What a joke.Just travel around the world and see her popularity. And lastly u r talking abt money???What money can u give to her.U dumb, dont u know she is one of the richest person of the world. And why should u copy others.Dont they have any original idea. And if they copy her work, they should take permission from her.
Did she give royalty for the paper she used? For the pen? For the computer she typed on, which was built over a concept of zero invented in India? This is something grossly stupid on her part.
