What are you trying to say my dear friend. Others may not but I do understand that you have read 'The Grammar Of The Film Language' and books by Syd Field (did you not attend the workshop he conducted in Mumbai?)and the other masters. Of course you also read 'The American Cinematographer' Wow. And you watch a lot of films. while doing all that you got lost in "Bolly Wood" . Were you paid for this article by it's number of words ? Once again I repeat "What was your focal point of your lost in the woods article?"
I started reading the article after reading the tilte of the article...To my despair the initial paragraphs came no-where close to the subject...
I dont know how the entire article is...I almost fell asleep after 7-8 paragraphs...For someone who cannot even put down his thoughts into words...what right has he got to discuss people who have made BIG in their lives
quite a weell researched article on a topic that most people dont care to read about.that the critics should take their job seriously ,is important, for except those who like to watch first day, first shows, the rest of us do give a cursory glance to the film review columns and to a large extent depend upon them for our choice of the movie to be watched.some reviews are on expected lines though.TOI for instance always gives 3star or more ratings to all foriegn movies, but hindi movies mostly rate 1 or 2 stars, except when they relate to well known names a la Bhansali or offbeat ones like Rajat kapoor.all others are rated as mediocre or downright kachra stuff, when they are quite watchable movies.
Now, what does mentally challenged mean anyway? Why use such pointless american idiosyncracies, the only purpose of which is to be politically correct, even at the expense of distorting the intended sense.
I guess, the word you were looking for is "Mentally handicapped". Lets not ape the american lingo just because it is cool without applying our common sense.
u r mising one very important element of any article/ news story... SENSE!
well, as u said, somewhere on the 857th page of your book, i was entitled to my personal opinion.. so you dont have to take it to your heart, buddy. keep writing. earn enough. after all, it seems, thats all what u write for.
