Tell me what is the meaning of attending a class, if you do not understand the lecture?
I remember during my engineering, we had some faculties who were ranked among top 50 in Asia(some kind of ranking). But they used to teah like bull... simply crap. One could easily sleep in the class. But on the otherhand there some young(temporary placed) teachers who were amzing, their problem solving approach is mind-blowing, and they were handling the class like hosting a TV show. Quiet interesting. And we had learned a few things from them, that still useful in our job.
Tell me in the above case which one you would prefer? This is the same case with Anurag Kashyap and Bhansali's movies. When their film flopped, they are saying its a path breaking cinema. Shame on you Mr. Arrogant Kashyap, Stupid Bhansali & Rasc*L Gopal Verma.
Raja you hit on the spot - There's Money At Stake! And other people's money. I love cinema and I admire people who dare to try something different but to be so self indulgent with someone else's money is taking your arrogance to the next level!!!
In all fairness I think Anurag may not have set out make to something like this. What finally came out may have been as a result of having failed at what he initially set out to do. You won't find his cronies at PFC admitting that though and they somehow don't seem to allow him to do it either :)
Raja Sen is right...Even if you are making an intelligent movie, people should understand the message behind the movie... if you are making movies for yourself, do make them... since you already know your vision.... He is right about Black... it was not original... Amitabh was loud and so was Rani in some scenes... only the young girl was good... Bhansali is an overrated director... HDDCS is a copy of Woh Saat Din and the ending of Woh Saat Din was more convincing than HDDCS... Devdas was just opulence... SRK and Ash overacted... His first movie was the best and that bombed at the box office...
