Guys, i think this Yanveer Bookwala should read a book or two on reviewing movies......mainly coz......the title says the film belongs to Sharman......and tragically hezz been mentioned only in the last line of the review......kya chal raha hai yaar???? aadmi bolta kuch aur hai....karta aur likhta kuch aur hai....

The introduction and summation of a film review is always the most prized part. A film can never truly only belong to a particular actor, which is why Directors like Kevin Smith refrain from using "A Film By" credits. Sharman has done a great job, but a good solo performance isn't everything.

One more correction needs to be done, as I am a little confused as to whose parents where actually killed in the car crash, Remo's or Siddarth's.
"Remo seems to have it all, business sense, lots of money and the good life -- but feels numb within. His parents were killed in a car crash when he was a child."
"However, before the lovers can traipse into Phuket's setting sun, we discover that Sophie's parents were killed in the same car crash as Siddharth's parents."

Bad film. done to death before. why do we give good ratings to copycats. Bookwala you should be sued by makers of the original for contributing to encourage copycats. thanks to you the hindi film industry will remain in the rut of remakes. Its the job of a reviewer to discourage copies.... its the same a s watching pirated films. A good copy is still a copy.... a thief cannot be given credit for stolen property

hi Kamros, I never encourage "copycats" but you have to understand that almost every film today, in whatever language borrows from a thought. A film is a petrified fountain of thought. The film uses elements that blend smoothly in the happenings. I would pan a film like "Khamosh" which that was a scene by scene copy of "identity." Even acclaimed masterpieces like Lagaan and Black have orignated with inspired thoughts. That doesn't mean they are mere copies.

Bravo......... you call copies which does not acknowledge the sourse "inspired thought". thats how copies get license. Like Pritam says he has never lifted a tune.... just been inspired...( yes like Kya Mujhe Pyaar Hai in woh lahme"). You know the problem you dont realise that copies which pretend not to be copies are a lack of idea and un ethical... however good it is. It is like the stolen artifacts of Indian/ Egyptian temples beautifully exhibited in the London Museum of Arts.... Lagaan is inspired thought and thats why hats off.... but Black... acclaimed in INDIA ONLY because of people like you. Have you ever wondered why such an "acclaimed" film never made it to any respectable film festival. Do not forget that we at one time had a Guru Dutt/ a Satyajit/ A Addor.... and as long as people not oppose lifts we will remain in the rut.
what you call inspired... i am sure you will agree yourself is the kind of cahnges one makes to "Indianise" the sourse... and of course the songs.

Hey Kamros ,
Chill buddy ..Bollywood is known for "Inspired" classics like "Sholay" ( Seven Samurai, Good, bad, Ugly),Mr. India ( Mr X. in Bombay), Kaalapani (Schindler's List),so theris nothing wrong in remakes..it only makes you want to see the original source of work...even the great RDB has reworked ABBA's tunes to popularize them in Hindi. If you want to see a good remake..see "Ghajini" Tamil remake of Christopher Nolan's Memento)...which is being remade in Hindi with Aamir Khan as short term memory loss Victim..So Plagiarism is as old as bollywood..i takes guts to make a movie...remake or otherwise.. so if you dont enjoy a movie ...it's yr opinion ...and no one has the right to stop you from criticising it...it's a matter of taste...one man's food is another man's poison..

But everyone need s to watch amovie to judge for themselves..

Cheers
Aziz

hey Aziz. I think you have a language problem. I never said I do not like watching films. I feel strongly because I watch "good" films regularly. I know it takes a lot of guts to make a remake.... especially when one does without rights. but till the time copyright issues are not solved in this country shameful plagiarism will continue.... and I think you need to understand the difference between "inspired" and "plagiarism"...
Like I mentioned clearly, i suppose you did not read carefully. i ahve no problems with "inspired"films. its only natural.

IAM SORRY.I THOUGHT THAT SUNIL DARSHAN MADE IT.ACTUALLY HE WAS THE PRODUCER.BUT STILL YOUR REVIEW IS INACCURATE AND POOR.YOU MUST REMEMBER THAT IF SO MANY PEOPLE ARE SURFING REDIFF TO READ THE REVIEW THEN YOU HAVE TO LIVE UPTO THE REPUTATION."we discover that Sophie's parents were killed in the same car crash as Siddharth's parents"THESE ARE THE LINES OF YOUR REVIEW.INSTEAD OF REMO YOU WROTE SIDDHARTH.THE EDITOR TOO DID NOT CORRECT THIS MISTAKE.ALSO EVEN AFTER SOO MANY REVIEWS AND FILMS YOU REALLY FELT THAT THERE WAS SUSPENSE THEN GOD BLESS BOLLYWOOD.IF WE DREAM OF OSCARS THEN OUR MOVIES SHOULD BE AS GOOD.YOU SHOULD WRITE STRICTER REVIEWS.YOUR CRITERIAS SHOULD BE STRICTER.TELL ME WHETHER RAQEEB IS EVEN A PATCH ON HOLLYWOOD MOVIES LIKE WILD THINGS.BELIEVE ME EVEN THE FRONT BENCHERS DID NOT WHISTLE WHEN TANUSHREE DUTTA CAME ON SCREEN.DONT WE EXPCT MORE FROM A PRODUCER OF RAJ KANWARS REPUTATION.HE HAS GIVEN US SUCH PAISA WASOOL STUFF LIKE JEET.
