Nandita is extremely talented but it would be nice if she kept her clothes on and stayed dignified. Oh yes, please dub your Hindi/Urdu lines. Good luck.

pandey.....ur aan illeterate fool with no senses....she is an actress depicting a woman in a rural setting...if you want to feel dignified, instead of shedding your ignorance in public sites like this...go and give some of the extra clothes that ur mum has and give it to the poor people around you....

boss she is not playing nandita das in the film! the clothes and the look are of millions of indian ladies.. if you are ashamed of their "indignified" looks, try to do something about it rather than asking nandita to put on clothes!

And when our leading bollywood heroines shed clothes, that is "glamour", isn't it? Well, openly say that you can not stand the lives of not-so-rich majority of the nation!
It is considered chic to say that Nandita is a very good actor in Art house movies. All it takes are some tattered clothes, a haggard makeup, some crude rustic dialogue. And attend fora on Womens issues run by hi-society wives of rich and famous who are looking for photo-op. And march in some protest rallies. This is all sham. I'd take the glamor world anyday, at least they dont have anything to hide!! They have no pretence of social cause.

and what does it take to be a glam heroine? wear expensive clothes, act in films that show the lives of the elite class! so if someone is making (and someone is acting in) movies that are outside that gloss world, it's ok if you don't appreciate it, but let them have a life too!
From this interview we can make out she is really an intelligent lady and she has a mind of her own. Citing the example of Chicken and egg for media's role, is really very pertinent. Most of our highly paid bollywood heroines turn out to be very dumb and stupid in interview still we spend money of them. I wish actors like Nadita should act more and speak more. Then the common people would have that 'alternative' what she is talking about
Though we are in 21st Century, I still feel that Women in India even in Urban areas need to be liberated from the clutches of the society...But many women yet to realise that..Moreover, what i feel is, women themselves are not open to get liberated...This is a big topic..

"iberated from the clutches of the society", when "women themselves are not open to get liberated" , and this is faster "devlopement".
These people were developing countries untill they got good salaries. It is dangerous for these people to devlop women.
Nandita Das should annoint her as the spokesperson of rich and arrogant of delhi women, who have a lot of voice for themselves.
Her experience and success in movies shouldn't be a platform for becoming a pseudo voice, to subdue and deliver the final assault to whatever faint voice left. Nandita Das's strong feeling are her own voice. The voice of rural woman never arrogates as a pseudo-voice, the baggage of rural woman was usually on top of head, not hidden inside the head, these difference Nandiata wouldn't understand.
Nandita would cease to be a citizen of the world when she brings out that baggage from her head to outside, if she shows her burden then other people will become her voice, other people will speak her pain, her suffering, her misery, the rights she deserve so badly.
