Horcruxes
by on Mar 29, 2007 08:11 AM  | Hide replies

I have a different theory. I think rather than harry being a Horcrux, harry's scar is the horcrux. Remember harry is not entirely possessed by Voldermort. His mind becomes vulnerable at some times and that too can be controlled by Occlumency.

Horcruxes are in a way created using a very rare spell. So maybe they can be broken using another very very rare spell (this spell may be different for each horcrux depending on how they were created). Maybe Harry does not have to die.

I do not agree with u on scar being a horcrux. As you saod, horcruxes are created using a very rare spell, and when harry's scar was created, the spell used was Avadakedavara. I dont think thats the spell used for making horcruxes.

I rather agree with Dumbledore's theory, and moreover, we have no reason not to believe so.

yeah, but Albus said that when you want 2 make horcrux you must commit murder , and maybe Voldemort find the threat in HP as Snape overheard prophecy and said to him (a boy brought up in 7 month from parents that stood up against Dark Lord 3 times (or something like that, i am taking it from my head, anyway)), and as he had on some way duty to kill HP so this on could not destroy him he had one more idea: if I kill him I can make an other horcrux... but there is a whole in theory of harry being horcrux... When Voldemort was about to kill HP with well known avada kedavra, his mother Lilly Potter made a mighty old spell and saved her sons life, witch destroyed Voldemort and he became a shade, and he was to weak to make some difficult, if not even the easiest one, spell as spell for making horcrux is!!! Only whole in all the theory of HP being horcrux... and some say Albus didn't mention possibility of HP being horcrux but you forget that Dumbledore made mistakes, he wasn't always right... and there is no spell that can break horcrux without hurting it... in one I know Albus Dumbledore was right: HORCRUX MUST BE DESTROYED, IT MUST BE BROKEN ON SOME WAY THERE IS NO SPELL THAT CAN BREAK HORCRUX WITHOUT DESTROYING IT... remember riddel's diary: as Harry destroyed it horcrux was destroyed to!!! So if Joanne put Harry as horcrux there is no chance for him to stay alive, and who is going to kill him, he on himself or someone else I dont know, but I think That HP's death i the best

Harry Potter is an attack on the great 500000000 year Indian culture by the western governments.
I suspect the CIA, Mossad, KGB is behind all this.

oh my effing god!! the cover tells SO much!! the locket around his neck (US version) says about the heuxurx (i know i spelled it wrong lol) and him reaching towards the sky could mean something about dumbledore surviving!! ^_^ so much with so little time left!

and COME ON! 608 pgs?! (UK version) how can anyone write a good ending that's going to answer all questions in just 608 pages??? *mumbles* hope it's tiny print...

nice adult UK version cover ^^ I personally think its RAB's locket lol and the whole eye thing they said at the end of the article gave me chills >_>

Don't Think so. I think harry is going to carck the mystery of the abbreviation written at the back of the locket. What was it? R.A.B I have got a shrewd idea that Peter Pettigrew is going to help Harry

I think R.A.B is the abbreviated name of "Regulas Black", brother of Sirius Black, who was "supposed" to be killed by Voldemort.

I think i once heard from one of initial j k rowling's interview...about the last book (during the first book itself..she had written down the final words)
Dumbledore: WHere's your scar harry?
Harry: Its gone
That means Voldemort is dead and dumbledore comes back again

Harry Potter last part
by Gaurav Mundra on Mar 29, 2007 12:23 AM  | Hide replies

Harry will have to die. My theory - Voldemort tried to kill Harry but could not. He thought what could be a more safer item to become a horcrux than Harry himself!! If Voldemort cannot kill him who else could and he thought he made himself immortal by doing that.

Now for Voldemort to die, Harry HAS TO DIE.

This is what the prophecy states -
"Only one will survive while the other dies...". So, if Harry is the chosen one, either he or Voldemort is going to die, not both.

Whats so special ??!!
by Classified on Mar 28, 2007 11:31 PM  | Hide replies

Indians were brought up with stories from Jataka tales, Chandamama, Panchatantra, etc, where Potter-style tales were narrated with even better style long long back - Sadly, we dont recognise our own work, but seem to fall head-over-heels for some imitation from a western author.

Even today, nobody can beat our stories for their ideas, innovativeness, social values, morals, etc.

Unfortunately, todays children shun Chandamama, but queue up at 12 Midnight to buy a Potter book, which anyway is available as a pirated copy the next day at 1/3rd the price.

The quality of Chandamama has gone down. The stories are not as fascinating any more, and printing errors are innumerable, notwithstanding the the language which is deplorable.

I agree that we have some wonderful stories that kids in India should be encouraged to read, but I don't understand what your issue is about both adults and children all over the world being drawn to harry potter. I disagree that just because of harry potter kids aren't interested in our fables. The potter series are funny, intersting and just simply incredible. I give kuddos to any writer who can make millions of kids all over the world flock to a book store and pick up a 700 page book and read it.
Besides its part of being in a democracy to have the choice to read what you would like to read and follow your own interests. Why are Indians so hyper-sensitive about every little thing?!
