I think success is relative. What we call as a hit is only relative -- Sholay would be termed as a semi-hit if compared to many Hollywood movies of that era. Similarly, we cant compare Nagesh Kukunoor' Iqbal to a SRK movie and call it a flop. I urge independent movie makers to retain their vision and at the same time make movies which cross cultural barriers.. eg; Titanic, Bend it Like Beckham, Lagaan,

Happy these films don't get released

Films like Maranasimhasanam, Pattiyute divasam or Arimbara, that are made only for the festival audiences who have no idea of what happens in Kerala, are best not released in the theatres here. Otherwise the viewers would have thrown stones at the filmmaker (London is at somewhat safe distance, but Hyderabad is closer!).

Its a shame that we are not getting a chance to watch movies like 'Unni' other than in film festivals. I guess people are not interested in reality, but live in dreams and watch movies like K3G! Govt should promote such movies in India.

Yes. Most of the indian directors are interested in Khans, Bachans, mahesh babus, Chiranjeevis, Vijays, Ajiths dancing in AUS, NZ and US. When they will grow???

I totally agree. We indians always are obsessed with heroism, kuthu paatu, dance & romance with heroines half their age. This is disgusting. The same is happening in Cricket too.
