RE:RE:Best Wishes Shyamalan!

'Lady in the Water' was a good film, but it did not have a storyline strong enough to become a commercial success. He effectively depicts the intensity of the feelings of the characters, and potrays the multi-cultural America by showing immigrants, but at the end of the movie you feel - 'Is this it to the story?'

Hey, Spooky. He drank Rasam and made Unbreakable! I thought it was a wonderful movie. The American audience doesn't get somewhat intelligent movies. Same thing happened a decade ago with Back to the Future Part 2
Night ought to step down from his high-horse and take some time to get over himself.
I mean seriously, did we have to wait till "Lady in the Water" to finally acknowledge that he has been riding on the success of "Sixth Sense" for way too long?? How many movies since Sixth Sense are worth watching a second time. A so-called "genius" such as Night ought to be making films like that add meaning with repeated viewing. Sadly with his later films a repeat viewing makes the film appear more shallow and conceited!!
I am disappointed in him after watching his most ridiculously pathetic flick Lady in the Water. It was the worst movie ever made. Shyamalan is a fluke. He needs to take notes from movies like Pan's Labryinth to fully understand the complexity of the spiritual thematic genre of bewitching fantasy. Sixth Sense was the only worthwhile movie from him. The rest pretty much sucked. Maybe the success of Sixth Sense got to his head and he lost interest in making worthwhile films.

why do u need brains to understand a movie, movies are to watch without using brain. I want to use my brain only in the office where I get paid. You are really crazy to watch his fils. 6th sense and villager was enough for me give reviews about his movies and thats it I don't even read reviews about his movies. Well he is really bold and marketing himself in Hollywood- thats what i appreciate about him and not his creativity- it sucks I still want to stick to the age old tradition of watching a movie for entertainment not using brains, duh...
To coreect the opening para of the article, Manoj Rathri (night) Shyamalan is a Malayalee, though born to aprents who were then posted in Pondicherry. I liked his movies, and consider sixth sense as his best....till date

What difference it makes whether he is a Mallu or Tamil, the fact remains he is of Indian origin. In any case his father is from Mahe (mallu) and mother from Chennai/Pondy (Tamil).

Hi Suresh, Please stop dividing our country. Dont carry on the legacy of British. How the s..t it matters whether he is a mallu or a tamil. If you really want to know the truth - his mother is a tamil from Tanjore - she went to Pondichery to do her medicine - there she met a mallu doctor. by the way I know her mothers family very well personally. Stop craping and think that we are all Indians. Let us be proud about any Indian succedding in global platform. Let us encourage any Indian who is aiming for the same. bye for now. You should get Common Sense (not watch sixth sense). Bye Venkat

I am a mallu, and after watching his movies I would rather call him to be of Indian origin than a mallu :)
