"So at best he is a Malalyam Director and famous in Kerala."
No, he is not. He is a critically acclaimed director whose films have been awarded internationally. It is unfortunate that people like you who are so limited in their awareness of cinema even care to post comments. Not only that you also make grand statements like "...famous in Kerala" Please, before posting at least check your facts. You know how to use Google, right?

Your IQ is so low that you cannot comprehend anything beyond your bollywood community which is nothing more than a stripping club. I dont understand malayalam but I can appreciate quality in story and technicality. Let me tell you the fact your attitude and illiteracy is what is destroying your northinian states which eats up all the revenues produced by southindian states which generates money through technology for the country. You guys have to be stripped of the wheat you eat and made to work for the revenue you beg from other states that support you. Literacy in southindia is much higher than rest of india which is just 50%. Hindis living in northindia cannot read and write in their mother tongue hindi... you are a disgrace! shout as you want at my comment you still are a waste for india!

You cannot digest his films.it's a fact..but don't think that everyone is like you..Movies are not just for entertainment..Directors of his kind has been proving it for years..its true that they don't get a massive audience..but that don't sense that they are good for nothing..

Yaar. Why are u comparing Aditya chopra in the league of all the others.Remember he made "DDLJ" and he is more of a producer and he produces bakwaax movie is another story but still he is not in the same league.
My salutes to a great director. He is always an asset to malayalam film industry with his different style of narration and different portrayal of common man.All my best wishes for his fortcoming ventures.

i was trying to get adoor's films in the market just to watch the creation of the person whom i admire for his achievements but could'nt find one,not even in hos own home town-Adoor by Joby cherian
Though a non-malayalee, but a greatr film lover, i have found Adoor's films extremely satisfying. Here simplicity and artistry merge with rare abandon. I only hope Adoor choses themes that are more relevant to the times and makes us reflect deeper about the curent situations we are faced with... someties i find he is more at home taking us back to the past..and create sense of nostalgia. Good luck with the present short story concept, though not a new concept at all..
Adoor is best when he directs his own stories into films. Of all the films he made, the two made from stories of others- "Vidheyan" and "Mathilukal", did not measure up to the others where he had his own stories. Let us see how his films based on works by Thakazhi shape up.

i think mathilukal was the most universal film of adoor.. the story had a wider appeal though based in kerala.
Its sad that Adoor is not joining hands with great actor Mohanlal. Mohanlal or Adoor does not loose anything, the loosers are movie lovers who was eagerly waiting for this. Hope that they keep aside their ego's and unite for a good movie.

There is no ego here. There could be several reasons why he has not cast Mohanlal. Don't jump to conclusions.
IN Kannada, the great director Puttana Kangal had made a movie called 'Katha Sangama' which had 3 stories and in one of them the present Superstar of Tamil cinemal - Rajanikanth acted as a villain.

For your info...this kid Ram is somebody who just want to flame a mallu/kannada war of words. He is not a mallu for sure from the way he writes.
Btw, I too agree 90% or probably more of malayalam movies are crap nowadays.
