Apocalypto is a master piece
by Apurva Tank on Mar 22, 2007 04:17 PM

It potrays the journey of survival. Jungle ka kanoon. How people misuse power. How the powerful piles on the weak. the movie has many subtle messages which is the best part of the film. Great visual depiction. Too my mind this movie forces me to discuss post watching it. Mel gibson is genius iam very sad that he missed out on oscar award. The main lead actor did a teriffic job. The movie is gripping till the very end. I give ten on ten to the film.

Must watch film only adults

no doubts the movie has been shot brilliantly and is a must-watch for those who can watch it.but it again raises questions on censorship-this movie and something like "Pyaar ke side effects", both come with an A-rating. Isn't it time we did something about the ratings? The violence and nudity in the movie would've been embarassing/disturbing for many people-infact I could see many people moving out of the theatre within 30 minutes of the start of the movie. I'm not against the screening of the movie, but doesn't it again point out the flaws in the censorship system? How do people identify whether it is right for them or not?

Yesterday afternoon i reported a message that abused the religion islam but your decision is still awaited, may i ask why and what is taking you so much time to decide? U instantaneously block the message if somebody abuses a film star but it is taking u more than a day to block that message by prasun premrajan on Mar 11, 2007 03:34 PM. I was really disgusted by this behaviour of you and rediff, i was an extensive rediff user but now this is my last post on it....what do you guys want to show by doing such things just ridiculing a religion cannot insult its aura and grandeur, but i pity all you guys who dont know anything about the religion and just follow what the media depicts...its really a shame

why do people have to read so much into a movie and its motives.. its just a story as its just not possible to capture the essence of a civilisation in 2 hrs..

A true visual experience
by SHADAB KHAN on Mar 11, 2007 06:32 PM

Make no mistakes, apocalypto is the best action movie you are going to see for awhile. if you
think its an arthouse flick in an alien language about some lost civilisation , you are only half right. its all that and much more.
its a hard core action flick in the tradition of rambo movies about a man being chased and how he uses
his environment to his advantage to survive .

Mel gibson knows how to push all the right buttons and he keeps delivering surprises one after another
right through the movie that will really knock you over. if not for his drinking escapades last year,
Apocalypto might have just got more than just three oscar nominations in lesser know categories.

this movie is really what cinema as a medium was intended to deliver , a truly visual experience .
