I am not here to comment on state of Indian airports and how Indians are treated in Europe or in US.
I am just here to tell you guys that Bangalore Airport is being used by HAL (Hindustan Aeronautical Limited) too and hence for security reasons, photography is not allowed.

You should know that there are singers besides Eminem, MJ, GM etc. Do you know singers like Mohd Rafi, Kishore etc? You may not know since they are not so "popular", otherwise you would have known them. I'm glad if you atleast hear their songs even if you dont know those songs are sung by these legends and Sonu is a living legend.

Dear Sumej, Even I am an ardent Sonu fan, but to call him a living legend is toooooo... much!!! Lets give him that honour 20 years later, I think its too early to put him in the category of Lata, Asha, DilipKumar, Amitabh (who r truly living legends). Even Sonu himself wud be ashamed to be called a s a living legend!!
if you are at delhi domestic & don't spot a celeb then it must be some kind of celeb holiday. I was on my way to mumbai when this guy sonu nigam walked pass us with his trolley & the kind of grim he had on his face was mind blowing.
its like "hey i am sonu nigam" "hey i am the singer" & "yeah don't forget i did some movies too".

Goto h*ll man! For your kind info, Sonu is the 2nd most famous person in Asia. He's a maestro, a living legend. I am sure that people who criticize/hate him now(because they love his counterparts - I said this because I realized that some of the readers hate him as their favorite singer(?) is Himesh) will praise him once he's no more. You would not realize the value of eye when it's there. He's one of the best male singers in India.

there are people like who know nothing but pretend as if they know everything. They're very dangerous to the society and sadly you are one of them.

Sonu is the best example for youth after Sachin Tendulkar. People who criticize them, they are jealous person. Sonu is the best singer after Rafi and Kishore. He is a true commercial singer.

Some of my very fav songs are sung by sonu nigam, i hv also enjoyed few of the TV shows he hosted. i find him very talented. The above incident i mentioned is just out the blue, not to critize, coz that day he was actaully behaving quite weird.
As far as his competition is concern, i donno who himesh is, & till now not able to relate him with any song that i hv heard. Yeah i hv seen his pics with baseball cap on etc. don't look like a rock star either!!
Lucky. They managed to get a picture without getting caught. My camera was almost confiscated by security when I took a picture. They relented when I deleted the pictures I took before them.

This policy of confiscating cameras in airports is an outdated vestige of Indian bureaucracy that dates back to the British era - when most airstrips were run by the airforce.
In most airports of the world and even within aircrafts you will not encounter this 'confiscate cameras' policy.
Wonder why we dont update those archaic rule books that the British left us. I remember a news item a couple of years ago about a furious German passenger in India who ticked off the air hostess (that confiscated his camera). The passenger said to her that instead of enforcing the "no photography allowed" policy the service at the aiports need to be improved.

Because my dear fellow, just as the security is archaic, so are the terrorists mostly. So archaic security policies work for archaic terrorists. As simple as that.
As far as the german is concerned, to hell with him... compared to the hell an indian has to go through when visiting any 'white' country, this is nothing... atleast we don't pat you down... so just shut up..
RE:RE:RE:photography at airport

I live in a 'white' country (to borrow the adjective you used) - the US. Let me inform you that I have never been made to go through any 'hell'. The standard of Indian airports and the service provided there is pathetic when compared to that in the US.
As far as the 'pat you down' is concerned, they ask passengers at random to step aside and wave a hand held metal detector around them. It happened to me once. I was one of several passengers asked to step aside. Along with me were several 'white' passengers as well. On another occassion, when we were returning from a seminar, the CEO of my company - a white American - was asked to step aside and got a hand held metal detector swayed around him, while I was not stopped.
It may sound very patriotic to whip out your frustrations at the 'white' nations on a discussion board, just that some of your criticism would appear petulant to folks who actually live / vist the US.
The authorities in the US are exponentially more courteous than the contemptuous and contemptible sarkari babus / pandus we have in India.
An Indian goes through a worse hell every day in India - at the hands of corrupt cops and civic / government officials and pathetic politicians - than he / she has to go through in the US.

You Idiot, why are you blaming our people ( India Airport Authorities).. I beleive USA is better than most of the white countries. Do you know USA is a mixture of Africans, Asians, Europeans and Middle East. Go to pure White country? Go to any Europe country and see how they behave with you. Go to Italy and touch any white, they will wash themself 10 times after shaking hands with is.. Same with countries like Australia, Canada, UK and Russia... You dont know how racist Europe countries are. We allowed Sonia Gandhi to rule us... Forget Politics, europe dont even want Indian companies to set up there??? They even declined Mittal group..... And guys like you go to USA and think you are Angrez.... Respect your motherland.. Look at Indian food, look at the service here.. Its better than eating french fries all day there eating a healthy dal and rice here..

I agree with madhavan. The way our airport authorities our own citizens are pathetic. No maanners, always looking for a way to make quick bucks, none of our airports are of international standard, no courtesy, doesn't know how to behave with women, etc. We need to do something serious to improve such pathetic image. I think it's a fashion to keep on blaming White people for all our misery. Let's talk sense. B.T.W Sonu looks pathetic in that dress. Seems like he has beaten up.
