I saw this movie,paying Rs.220/- at Metro Adlabs(there should be some sense to what Adlabs is charging for a movie ticket,the ambienece deserved nothing more than Rs.100,on the higher side.),the highest i paid in my life for a movie ,i had unheard for until it getting an oscar for forest.
Must Admit it is a mind-bogling movie,which every one should see,not only for great acting but also for knowing what is world political history,and how power corrupts,and what it means being close to very powerful people,it is a trap(Mr.Amitabh Bachhan and other non politicos helping politicians must have realised),which leads to doom,as most of world's mighty and very powerful be it businessmen,politicians,administrators,dictators all of these are mostly corrupt,and have no consious and any regard for their own people,their own citizens,be it Uganda,or India,or Pakistan.

After a lot of pencil-chewing, Syed finally hit on the word to start his review on - Conscience. Having done that, he wastes the first two tiny paras on a job that wasn't his in the first place but rather the producers - coming up with a tagline for the movie. The nex three paras are a plot summary and some trivia that you can very well find on IMDB and wikipedia. So all that is left are the last 2 small paras where he dutifully toes the Oscar line.

Get people who first understand what movie reviews are.
There is a lot of subtlety in the relationship between Amin and Garigan, the unsaid, which our reviewer has not written about..reducing the relationship to a father-son would be tragic. Also, the film reveals Idi Amins's thought processes, what he will driven by, the human side of the beast, so to say. This has eluded our film reviewer. On the whole, the quality of film reviews of an oscar winning film should have been significantly better, so as to do justice to the intelligence and the sensibilities of the readers.
Well, You see the movie end and you realize what a lunatic amin was and how difficult it was for whitaker to play that role. Superb Acting and direction, great movie, A must watch for all hollywood buffs, forget the ratings anyone gives to the movie

your post initially made me livid, but that was only for a flash...then it only made me laugh, and i'm still laughing as i write this! Get a life man!
I think these reviewers of rediff got training from Khalid Mohamed. They feel they are supreme. But they even fail to properly rate Hindi movies .... i dont think they will ever rate English movies properly. Its always better to check imdb ;)
