MUMBAI, JUN 5: With speculation of the ongoing rivalry between Bollywood stalwarts Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan continuing to smoulder, two competitive channels last Sunday ran simultaneous prime-time telecasts of both the old and new versions of the film Don, in which the two actors play the respective lead roles. Star Plus viewers caught the new Super Hit Don starring Khan, while the original Hit, starring Bachchan, was telecast on Sony Entertainment TV.
According to television rating agency Audience Measurement & Analytics Ltd (aMap), the Don remake on Star Plus had a television rating (TVR) of 21.96, more than the 1.12 TVR garnered by the 1978 Bachchan Movie. Whether the simultaneous telecast was a coincidence or deliberate remains anybody%u2019s guess. Says a Star spokesperson: %u201CWe really don%u2019t know if it was a coincidence or a deliberate move on the part of Sony.%u201D
Even Sony executives expressed surprise at the coincidental timing of both films. However, industry sources told FE that it appeared to have been a well planned strategy as media planning agencies knew well in advance the telecast schedule of both films. The new Don was expected to attract more advertisers, especially when pitted against the old one.
The rivalry between the two superstars was triggered after Shahrukh Khan was roped in for the third season of Kaun Banega Crorepati.
It's good to see SRK and Juhi with their kids in Disneyland, but where is SRK's wife (gauri) and Juhi's hubby Jai Mehta? They all should have gone there together. Maybe Jai and Gauri went to some other trip. If anyone spot them together, don't forget to send their pic too.

SHAHRUKH KHAN IS THE REAL DEAL.HE HAS ACCOMPLISHED FAR MORE THAN ANY BACHANS etc...others took years(60 )...and more over THEY have to indulge in BRANDing their family names.......it is a desparate appeal to myopic masses...a la RSS VHP BAJRAN DAL BJP SHIV SENA style.........WHO ARE YOU KIDDING GUYS?IN THE NAME OF FREE SPEECH ?

Mr. GHJG... or whatever ur name is, or wherever u're from, pls dont talk abt Big B. that guy is stuff that the world's best actors are made of; had he been born in west he'd have been the best actor in hollywood- Marlon Brando, Tom Hanks, Al Pacino, Sean Connery et al. U must watch the 1941 hollywood flick "Meet John Doe" starring Oscar nominee Gary Cooper and then watch "Main Azaad Hoon"- a Hindi remake featuring our own Bachchan- you'll realise that he's acted far superior to the original. His role in Black is unparrelled in movie world, he was, is and wud remain a style icon, girls drip lather watching him on screen at this age. Unlike the 3.5 mannersim, stuttering, auto rickshaw driver self proclaimed- media influenced 'badshah khan' who's only aim in life (after a series of flops) is to imitate the big B(KBC, Don, Bib B's ads etc). His verbal diarrhea pymies him in comparision to the eloquence and erudite nature of the Big B. Why have all successful producers and directors who were responsible for his stardom(Yash Chopra et al) dropped him like a hot potato? Big B was successful- without a family name in Bollywood, and he still sways his audience at 64 is a tribute to his acting prowess & persona, let see where ssssharukh kkkhan be at 50??? and yur chirade against the RSS etc. exposes yur typical mindset, whether a paki or an Indian, u guys can't think beyond yur religion, how do u explain the broad mindness of this country's population whove made stars of khans???

true amitabh is a really good actor has come out top in the industry and achieved it all by himself ...but comparing him to brando or any other is not right each person has their own place ..brando was remarkable as an actor if u ever watched his films and are astute judge of acting u wud realise exactly how intense brando is as an actor

The days are gone of Mr.Bachchan.shahrukh got everything more than that of Bachhans.Dont compare with sharukh to bachchan.What he acheived in his late sixties shahrukh got in his thirties.Shahrukh make defeat amitabh every film when amitabh tried to take a plung.You people should now know that sharukh is now a dark horse and amitabh is tired old horse taking last lap of his life.Understand Mr.vspi or whatever your name.
