Poor journalism
by secret secret on Jun 26, 2007 11:01 AM

See, it's like this - there is such a thing as journalistic ethics.

Let me guess.

1. Radhika Rajamani needs to produce a certain minimum number of articles for rediff every month. Or she gets paid by the piece. And as part of that she came up with this - a false article glorifying a below average actor who starred in an above average film.

2. Or, rediff is desperate for South-Indian film stories, since it is a segment it is still not strong in, and needs readership from South-India galloping as well. The marching orders for Radhika Rajamani must have been, anything goes.

Ms. Rajamani, you do not call a merely above-average movie a "blockbuster" if you are trying to be an ethical and truthful journalist, either since you are trying to justify the raison d'etre of your article, or since you are trying to look grateful and/or kind to the actor who gave you time. Did you check the numbers for Dhee before you wrote this?

Radhika Rajamani was a print journalist who was with The Hindu, and before that, I think, with TOI - a medium where journalists are protected since there is no scope for user comments, and since no feedback is public. Well, the truth is this - most people there write crap to fill up the pages before the deadline, and get away because of this. Even if you have no journalistic ethics, be scared of public backlash on the Internet.

And yes, I agree with everyone below - Vishnu is a lousy actor.

I dislike him particularly since he owes ev

I accept vishnu don't have good looks but appreciate his efforts as ceo of vidhyanikethan and think smart they did work for happyfeet as well.
and regarding dee no doubt its a paisa vasool and a hit as well. forgot about vishnu's glamour observe his action its really good he improved a lot, even game was screened well but it was pure badluck that film didn't fared well.
so my dear frnds even the big stars of today dont have good looks when they started but they improved a lot, amithab was rejected while he started his career same with rajni and chiru . take allu arjun in his debut films he lacked looks now all prooved wrong and now he is excelling!!!!

Vishnu is the most horrible actor in telugu industry today. I wonder who took this interview. Forget about the success of the movie, this guy is irritating to the core. I just hope that these two idiots stop acting someday.

If Indians are expecting the Taj mahal among one of 7 wonders then Govt of India first open it to all the people in full and go for full reserach on its past, structure and archeollogy. How many here knows that Taj mahal is a 7-storey building and Govt opnes only 2 storeys for general public.... It is closed since ShahJahan...

Pls know your subject well
by Suresh Jayaraju on Jun 26, 2007 10:33 AM

Ms.Rajamani,

A sincere adive to you and rest of Rediff edit team. Pls do not take interviews / give write ups about issues, people whom you know too little. It downgrades rediff's credibility. This is more so true for south India based articles on Cinema or any other general issues.

Think you need to know more on the subject before any write up. Its a sincere appeal.

I have watched it..comedy was good but couldn't watch the hero's face.If Ravi teja was the lead actor he could have created justice for the comic role played by the hero.I justed imagined another hero's face in him and watched it.Finally the movie was good. But the actor vishnu was pathetic.

Frankly speaking, this guy is a disadvantage to the movie. With some other hero on the post would have made this movie, a much bigger hit

Dhee would have been a hit with any hero
by Ras on Jun 25, 2007 08:41 PM  | Hide replies

Dhee is a directors film and there is no contribution of this guy for the moderate success of that movie. with any of the young heros in telugu that movies would have become a hit. If this guy is from non-filmi background he would haven't become and extra in movies. He is there because his father is a hero and producer.

I agree on this very much. Any young actor would have got the same result and I dont think the credit will go at all to Manoj.
