It has becom fashionable to crticise indians for each and every thing.If we indians criticise others for treating us badly, BANG!!!some startsayingthat indians deserveit.tell me guys, whcih people in the world are pure. Go to france and they criticise germans and english, gp to germany or england, germans will critics english and other europeans. western european people look down upon underdeveloped easterneuropeans. Americans criticise european and look downupon blacks,mexicans,indians.In ireland, catholics and protestants have been killing each other for many years, even though they all are christians. The europeans wiped out millionsof indians, mexicans,native red indians in americas and plundered their wealth,society,knolwedge,scientific thought but no one talks abt it. I agree upper catse look down upon lower castes but upper castes dint rape,plunder,loot,exterminate lower castes like the way whites did to other races. Infact compared to 1947 the position of lower catses ahs improved a lot now.

my dear karteik. I am indian myself and am looked down upon by my "own people" for having dark skin. There is nothing good about being racist towards other races, nationalities etc. But being racist among your own people...? It baffles me!

Its even in families,Mom and dad love the fairer child more than the dark one.
For Indians, its Krishna Avatara, as he came in the color of the dark clouds(Naveena Nirada), which tells us that even Lord Krishna came in as a dark colored avatara, that saves the day.
sure they are. Looking down on anyone is lower class, darker skinned, poorer. They hate black people, look up to white people and think they are superior (especially if they have fair skin). They have ads showing how people are more succesful by using skin bleaching cream. Yes, Indians are racist even among themselves.

there are many corporates like narayan murty, azim premji,n prasad of matrix labs who have done social service. But since bill gates and warren buffet are 10 times more richer than these guys the amount they gave in charity was also more.Thats why it attracted international media attention and more people know about it.
