Mammooty was called to act in Tamil movies and not to earn. Get yr facts right before u put it here. If Rajni charges Rs 35 crore ( Not worth it ) Mammootty dint even charge for his latest movie. CHIRANJEEVI officially is the highest paid star in India charging 1.25 crores for a movie 15 years ago. STILL " CHIRANJEEVI " IS THE HISGHEST ALONG WITH RAJNI. RAJNI STARTED THIS JUST 5 YEARS AGO. Rajanikant destroyed Mammootty in Dalapathy. Mammootty was the actual Dalapathy. Ranji cried to give that role to him. Mammootty accepted the turnaround. And Mammootty overpowered his role better than Rajni through his acting. Cheers

A "South vs rest of India" debate invariably crops up in such portals in the context of South Indian Movies (like 'Sivaji') or movies with southern technicians (like 'Cheeni Kum'). While we all should be careful to avoid such 'South vs rest' debates, what we witness here is worse.... a fight within South....Not good for anybody, friends....

mr senthil, first of all acting is not about dancing. if rajni is a better dancer, doesnt means he is the better actor. if maniratnam choose mohanlal to portray mgr, he might have felt there is no one in tamil nadu to play that role with the same flamboyance as lal did. if u speak about the physical features, hw can rajni a 60 guy romance with a 24 year old shriya, or a 20 year old nayan tara, or even can be the son of manivarnnan, who probably should be younger than rajni. we have seen the talent of rajni when he made chandramukhi horrible. and we are eagerly waiting for tamil kireedom to be ruined by expressionless ajith. pls dont think to compare lal with them in acting. if lal didnt make it in tamil, it doesnt mean he hasnt have the talent. if rajni had talent why didnt he make it in hindi or telugu despite several failed attempts.

Iruvar is one of the best Manirathnam movies He presented it in an artistic way unlike other tamil films in which heroes do drama rather than acting.In which Tamil film you can see realistic acting? There are only a handful directors like Manirathnam,Balu Mahendra who make realistic movies in Tamil unlike Malayalam where each film maintains a certain standard may be it has to do with low level of literacy and lack of qulity education in Tamilnadu villages unlike Kerala which is 100% literate state which is also reflected in superior film appreciating skill of mallus

boopalan anna, 100% literacy in kerala means every one can read and write atleast their names. and if u think ur english is so perfect, try speaking it with british or americans and u can see them wonderig ehat u are blabbering. they may say ur language has a resemblense to english. besides, if u go to rural tamil villages, leave english, how many can atleast put their signature.

Waning whistles, shouts mark Sivaji%u2019s first show

As the film, Sivaji, ended, after three hours, with the tagline - dreams must come true (kanavu meipada vendum) - the audience looked a trifle tired.
The crowd slowly moved downstairs at Satyam Theatres and we could overhear many saying %u201COK. Not bad. Sahana song was good. Music in a few places appears jarring to the ears....%u201D to the microphones of TV channels and entertainment websites waiting at the doorstep.
Just three-and-half hours ago, the place was agog with excitement and expectation. High-pitched screaming whistles filled the air making many to shut their ears. At regular intervals, there were shouts and waving of hands, perhaps, at the cameras of the TV channels which were trying to capture every minute of the excitement there.
Men outnumbered women in the crowd. Expect for an occasional pushing and shoving by a few well-built men, it was otherwise a %u2018let%u2019s wait in a queue%u2019 crowd there. Minutes ticked by, the crowd became impatient and the whistles and shouts turned shrill.
Soon, we were allowed inside and in a few minutes, after a few commercials, the film began. Crackers burst and the shouts brought the roof down. As the movie progressed, many people reacted to Sivaji's dialogues with whistles and shouts. One sitting near us was so involved in the movie that he continued whistling till the end.

I don't know why so much importance is given to tamil moview. Tamil movies don't represent south indian movies. 'Aptamitra' was better than 'Chandramukhi' song-wise or acting-wise. There are many good kannada movies, latest being 'Mungaaru male' 'KallaraLi Hoovagi'. Also there are many good telugu movies. Unfortunately other south movies don't get equal representation whether nationally or internationally. Its high time people or Indian film industry administration give due thought to equal representation to all langauges. What about moview of Oriya, Gujarati or Rajasthani. Do we want to wipe out their film industry by neglecting them. Please films division should treat all langaues equally.

it is realy embarassing 57 year old rajini who looks 70 romancing shriya who is young enough to be his granddaughter sivaji is a big comedy with rajini's 70's style mannerisms.only foolish tamilians can withstand this absurdness in 21st century Thank God I am a mallu and have someting called brain so that I can appreciate the talent of mammooty and Mohanlal greatest actors who are far above rajini the clown

Agreed, Mammotty and MLal are better actors today than Rajini. But Kamal has proven to be better than those! Anyway, let's not deviate from the topic here! Bottom-line is Rajini is the top most entertainer in the Indian industry- and he spans all regions of the south- so stop this Tamil-Mallu argument- it is not reflective of reality. Chandramukhi though a remake of a Mallu movie made enough $ in Kerala alone to recover cost of production. That means Mallus definitely liked the remake! So advice to Anshul and other mallus in the forum- stop projecting your personal dislike of the superstar as being representative of the entire Kerala!

Senthil, Stop denigrating MohanLal and Mammotty- these are admired actors in TN. Rajini does not have to be great by pulling down these 2 brilliant actors. Rajini has his strengths which are unique and he is the top-most star today in India- but obviously not everyone loves him.
