Box Office Flash: Jhoom Barabar Jhoom update

The top opener of the year, Jhoom Barabar Jhoom saw a drop on Monday; rather steeply in Bombay, but still took big collections out of Delhi/NCR, Bangalore and Calcutta. Chances for it to emerge a big grosser look low long term but the opening week should see collections on par with or even ahead of Shootout at Lokhandwala

WHERE

Cheeni Kum - WEEK - 3, Total Gross to date - Rs. 25,02,00,121, Total US Gross - $655,246 and Total UK Gross - £308,861 - Verdict to date - HIT.

Bachchan Rocks.

why r people complaining

Easily one of the better movies..no unnecessary gyan...just fantasies...good actors...and near perfect one liners...a 2 hour light hearted movie...something that was missing ever since david dhawan vanished into unknown....
and though me not a fan of AB...for those who question AB junior's credentials as an actor..boy this is his big movie...he is completely adorable and believable in this part...don't think even amir the perfectionist(as he calls himself)..could have done any better..
believe me don't go by others judgement..if u like easy on mind movies...i would suggest u watch it..but as i said u r the best person to decide...

i have my opinion just as u have yours..better stick to giving ur comments on movie than passing comments abt me without even revealing ur name...
we will all know pretty soon if the movie is a superflop(as u suggest)or a hit...so why spend sleepness nights over it..anyway who cares...

Why u complaing about the people's views, If u like it and u feel u got the money worth then keep it with yourself. Why u looking at others

I watch movie for myself, if i like it then it is a hit for me otherwise money waste, who cares if movie is superflop or superhit, i just look at my entertainment.

If some one is not satisfied then he/she got right to complain about the movie as he paid for that movie ticket.

Live for urself, dont think about others

A horrendous movie;although extremely good enough to give you an instantaneous attack of fits and constipation.
As for the "esteemed" critic Ms Sukanya Verma who has been averse to criticising such movies (her track record boasts of tributes to the smutty flicks generated by the obnoxious Yash raj enterprises and co), I would suggest a viewing of "Sivaji". Ms Verma would benefit from a veiwing of movies like Sivaji that could help her understand what "entertainment" actually is!

To me, it appears as if the critic is a fig of such movie makers (no offense, although that is what I perceive after reading several reviews dished out by her!).

All in all, JBJ is a complete waste of precious moolah and time. It appears as if Yash Raj and their croonies have a fixed formula of film-making which is as follows: -

1) Movie to be filmed in US/UK with a sizeable local Punjabi audience; and now, also target Brit Muslims in a shameless bid to cultivate a new audience
2) At least one compulsory "bhangra" number
3) Some inane one-liners passed off as "cool" dialogues to target the young generation
4) Pander to the NRI audiences and yet have doses of "bhartiya sanskruti" (karva chauth scenes etc) to cater to domestic masses
5) Select "stars and starlets" and finally choose a plot..........

Its time to condemn these lurid efforts by such film makers who could do well with a crash course in film making from the likes of Shankar,Farhan Akhtar,Raju Hirani etc.

Big opening of JBJ doen't assures quality of the film which was not up to the mark. The movie is horrible and it is going to fall flat soon with strong dislike by the audience. Its time that no longer big banner gimmick of promotions is going to work. All the lead palyers were superb. They are wasted to the last frame. Shaad ali has messed up atleast this time. Abhishek has arrived. lara is hot and spicy. Priety is pretty good. Bobby has great presence. they all rock but the movie flops. This is public ka verdict.

Appu

A big opening is no indication of the quality of a film..just an indication of good marketing and nothing more! Once the weekend Euphoria is over, the word of mouth on this sad sad film will spread and the box office collections will drop drastically...they should because an intelligent audience will not endorse poor movie making!

Good movie. Different story

I enjoyed every minute of the movie. YRF never disappoints. Aditya Chopra 50 most powerful man in Asia. What does these third class people know about watching good cinema. All they want is One Hero Beatting 10 goons at the same time. They will start clapping and jump up and down. Cheapsters
