I dont know why Raja is writing like that. As I got from the other sites (including IMDB, RT and Wiki) Most of the people liked Planet Terror than death proof. Heard that movie bombed cos of three reasons. 1) It was too funny to be scary and too scary to be funny. 2) The excess length of film in America and the time of its release- It should have released b4 Xmas. 3) In Europe, this movie was released as 2 movies. Movigoers felt like they r giving two movies' cash to watch a single movie. Too sad an end for a brilliant movie. Now about Robert Rodriguez- He is not just a sin city director. an all in one director. Used to make big hits with a very low budget. Ex: El Mariachi series and Spy Kids series. I dont think his future will be dark after a single flop.
hey..ive seen the movie recently..and the directors have simple indulged themselves...end result is that planet terror is absolutely rubbish and pretty gross..the other one is ok but then again..overall not at all worth it...!
All readers, you can all read rediff reviews. But do not make the mistake of trusting the rediff reviews. If its a english movie, and you want to read reviews before watching, go to rottentomatoes or imdb. Dunno for regional movies.

Oh, why don't you bozos all pipe down! I'm really pissed off at these negative comments about Raja's reviews. If you don't understand English and eloquent language, then just content yourself reading Mary had a little lamb and watching crappy shaolin flicks or something. Raja's reviews are some of the best that I have come across and I consistently read rottentomatoes and imdb also. I may not agree with them all the time, but for the discerning movie-goer it is bang-on pretty much most of the time.
I liked the movie overall, it was a masterpiece, you must not be a QT fan ... To all the die hard Quentin Tarantino fans out there, don't fall for this review, it's definitely worth going to this movie.
though tarantino might have garnered better reviews it was absolute a damp squib....a shame for a director whose best movies probably were the ones he never directed...natural born killers..and rodriguez when he had earlier done a short films collection with tarantino....4 rooms had done better then tarantino...though this time around his movie was more of a spoof to be judged.hope tarantino returns to his raw scripting.
