Murder of a film

By killing the original movie like this, Ajit and Co cannot hope to be pardoned by the fans of the original malayalam.

Yes hindi movies have done justice to original films from which they are copied abrubtly for ex. murder which is a good example for remaking enhlish movies without killing the original movie.

Miss rinku,..

It is not to say that hindi movie, murder is a good example of remakes for not killing the original movies but it merely 100% copied..

Like we all know, bollywood can't even make a minor modification out of the original..

Just look at Raaz and the original version..

This is nothing new
by Developer New on Jul 31, 2007 07:37 PM

This is nothing new at least in Tamil filmdom.
In "Dalapathi", the original story had the Character played by Rajani dead but had to change and the mammooty character had to die.

No body needs to explain what will happen if Rajani is shown as dieing. Remember that a theatre was burnt when MGR was shown as dieing in a movie.

Even in Sivaji, the Rajani could not be shown as dead and he had to come back. Many Tamilians were mentioning while watching the movie that it is a sensitive issue to show
Rajani as dieing.

But the hard fact is that Movie maniac Tamilians cannot distinguish between Real life and what is depicted onscreen.

Hi Mohan (SOB),

Hope u uderstand what SOB is. All northies are SOBs. Hindi movies have no quality. so, shut ur rear end and don't comment on tamil movies and actors. All the TV programs like "F... with Karan" and others that u have said are related to hindi film industry. If yours is a legitimate question then i should ask you why SRK or the so called farmer "AB" were not invited to any talk shows in SUN TV which is the biggest network in India. i know norties are idiots. No Hindi movie has any logic. All u guys know is wife swaping, fiancee swapping, gay/lesb movies, in future may be all swawings that you can think of.
So shut ur rear end and get lost for a discussion about a tamil movie

most of what you said is right. Tamils are very emotional people and give lots of respects to some people who doesnt deserve even a part of it. Generally, their stars lack the class and and try to compensate the real talents with gimmics.

Having said that, one can not deny some extremely talented people in the Tamil industry and the fact that they have produced some of the finest movies made in India. You have some real class and some real crass over there.

Web Monkey,

It is not tamils are emotional, on the whole Indians are emotional....I still cannot unerstand why we worry too much abt tamilians... If they like some body let them, if they die for some body let them die...
The problem we Indians, worry too much abt others and we give too much importance to language, movies, caste etc....and we forget basic things like to "respect others"
Anyway dont our attitude wont change, we live day to day life by seeing wat others doing, so it will take time to change our attitude.

Mr Mohan,
Cool down dude...If they are mad abt movies let them be, how does it anyway affect ur life? If some one like or crazy abt movies, let them be, the best thing we can do is either we can watch, or we dont watch, there is no need to comment/offend some one/grp.
I hope every body in this rediff blog understand this... Every body can write their opinion, but there is no need to offend any group/religion/caste etc....

Before commenting about the great legend Mr. Rajini kant first think and then blabber something... Even after seeing all polling in three major news channels u r still trying to blabber some bull shit is really pathetic... One thing is sure either u should be a good actor or u should be mad... Mr.Rajini kant has once again proved that he is the only super star of India...One more thing is our super star's statue is about to be waxed in madame Tussaud's wax museum in london this december.... Now eat ur words... If u dont like it just leave it... NObody is going to feel that u didnt watch his movies etc., He is living legend who is very rare and he is a phenomenon... This is even accepted by his friend amitabh whom he defeated by a wild margin... There is only one sun, moon and super star... That is Mr.Rajini Kant for u... Even after u degraded our super star i am expressing my thought in a very humble way shows the respect and the decorum v were educated by our messiah...

Yes these people can have coffee with karan and don't u see the mighty amitabh who has attitude to grab land by lying himself as agriculturalist can promote KBC. This is exactly what I mean when I say that your hearts rule over your heads! Why do you get their personal life mixed with their professional lives? We are talking of stardom and the whys and wherefores of it. I've heard a zillion guys sing that rajini is a philanthropist. Okay, Very good. Very fine. We agree. But that does not offset his average looks and cheap clown antics and negligible acting prowess. Why do you guys delve into an actor's irrelevant acts? The courts are there to punish them for their misdeeds. We are just talking movies and stardom here. And by the way, If I had 17000000000000000000 biscuits, I would also give 17 biscuits in charity, especially if I knew that i was dealing with a bunch of highly strung, emotional fanatics who throw logic out of the window, and watch me throwing cigarettes into the air and lighting them with my pistol.

mozhi and paruthiveeran were just average movies.

What so gr8 abt mozhi- it is a simple movie in tamil for change.

Paruthiveeran had a village tale to tell. But agian it had heroism, hero hitting many baddies etc. Sad climax doenst mean gr8 movie.

Since u asked abt mallayalam classic, u should see thanmatra state award winner or karutha pakshikal or achanurangatha veedu..

Abysmal
by Rajesh Upadhyay on Jul 31, 2007 06:14 PM  | Hide replies

This is the height of fanaticism for films. And this will happen only in Tamilnadu. They just go bonkers over movies. I guess such guys live in daydreams. The most natural reaction to a tragic ending in any part of the world would be 'oh, I didn't quite like the climax'. But in TN where stars are worshipped, 'dembles' are built, cutouts are bathed in milk, and agarbattus are lit for mere mortals, these things are very natural. Such euphoria over mere films is a hallmark of this state. Other states have their superstars, but nothing like the feverish frenzy that Tams show. I always wonder, are films and film stars worth giving so much of our time, money, energy and thought? I would never hit such abysmal depths. For sure.
