I have been mailing rediff for sometime now, commenting how tese 'discussion' boards have become platforms for people to voice their prejudices, rather than having healthy discussions. Often, you find nasty words floating around and personal attacks on people. But rediff seems too happy to carry substandard articles and promote communalism and gender bias in its own special way. I have two things to say about this article and its 'discussion' board: 1) It is in bad taste to sensationalise a 'kiss', instead of focussing on the movie or the artiste per se. What is so great about a kiss? An onscreen kiss at that! It happens all the time. Has rediff run out of news that it has to look for cheap publicity now? 2) This is for the people making nasty comments on the photograph that rediff has carried. Guys, you are talking about NASEERUDDIN SHAH! Do you have any clue who he is? For the ignorant ones, he is one of the greatest actors ever! Please think twice before you make nasty comments. And if you had a problem with Naseer's kiss of all things, you shouldn't have clicked on the article. Its a non-news alright, but it also carries some info on the movie. Why do we have to behave like moral police? And pass comments on others? If you have to speak out against something bad, why dont you do it when it comes to dowry deaths or female infanticide?

Its true that rediff is just putting articles in a complete non-sense way. The reason that they do it is because they get more hits. Here is a complete description of how rediff, moneycontrol and other sites use these message boards effectively to increase there hits substantially.
I seriously fail to understand how every single article on rediff leads to either a Hindu-Muslim / North India vs South-India / SRK vs Rest divide............ dont u people think its such a waste of time typing all this crap..............i know even i am wastin time by typing this but i just could not resist coz i have been a regular rediff visitor for the past 3 years n off late the divide has just got even worse........ cmon people some like SRK some like rejni, some like sachin, some like BigB, or whatever........ its okay........ u may like or dislike any1......... u may post good comments about the person u like or bad about the person u dislike.........its also okay but........ all this leading to the division............. i seriously feel sad......... n can only say what a pathetic place this site is.......... plz grow up........

i vouch for u dude....wat u say is right...if we are fightin among ourselves...i dont see ourselves goin forward...have a healthy discussion or even argument...but based religon caste or creed...it pains.... everyone has freedom to choose wat they want or like...respect everyones taste... cheers Vivek
Of late ive seen that the discussion boards on majority of topics is dominated by ppl with a narrow mindset. There is no healthy discussion. Either it becomes a religion war or a sex room chat.
For the person who said it is shame on Islam(the kissing) , i think the mindless terrorists killing ppl in name of Jihad and Islam are bringign on more shame. Because of that Islam is ridiculed.
As far as actor/actress kissing, its their profession, they know what they are doing, they make their own choices. And if they do it off screen also..its their own business. It used to happen 20-30 yrs back also, only that time media wasnt so strong and nothing would get covered. Nowadays anything and everything sells so media log ko bahut time aur kaam hai.
Learn to take everything with a pinch of salt. Some one said go kiss wives/girlfriends its an innocent feeling, i would like to correct him that in Islam kissign girlfriends is wrong , but wife...its ok....the relationship is healthy infact. Aur jo log keh rahe hai tis shame on Islam and indian traditions..im sure most of these guys do watch hot english movies and porn secretly and read hot magazines. Its upto to the youth to know what to follow and what line to maintain and what to cross.

Thank you so much Billy. Ive noticed that after my article more people have written on the recent state of the discussion board. Hope more people write in for healthy discussion. If we start this now we can get rid of the guys who write non sense.

Thats y he is th ebiggest hypcorite around. In India one can get respected by maintaining an image. See KamalHassan - every film there will be something innovative - but viled by junta that his character isnt good. The other side 10 or 20 babies per second- hopeless hypocrites.

i cant believe it.... how old are all you guys... grow up!! get a life! go out & kiss a man/woman or both (as per your taste) and then start commenting!! we talk about freedom? we talk about giving the right to a person above 18yrs of age to vote for a govt? we call that person an adult? then y and who gives us the right to stop them? yeah ...you are allowed to comment that you stand by what is happening or dont... but thats it. and as for religion... God is the decider ...the umpire... DO NOT TAKE DECISIONS FOR HIM HE ...DOESNT ...NEED ...YOUR ...HELP!
