The invisibility cloak that harry has as said in deathly hallows is immensely powerful and no magic could penetrate it.But then how could mad eye moody's magic eye see through it in the goblet of fire. Also malfoy was able to stupefy harry through the cloak at the start of half blood prince.

Harry Potter Book7

The author did a good job of setting the tone of this book from the very first chapter (very dark and violent).

But the journey of Harry, Ron and Hermione outside Hogwarts was a little less interesting to me (there seemed to be too many chapters of watch and wait with no progress). I also missed the presence of the other Hogwarts characters in this portion.

I enjoyed the last few chapters of this book the best! It had all the ingredients of the classic Good vs. Evil battles. It left the reader with a strong sense of justice being served. It also showed that qualities like friendship, loyalty, love and sacrifice can redeem any person and make them into heroes (Harry, Neville, Ron, Hermione).

A fitting finale.

HP & Deathly Hallows - A little bit of let Down
by Ved Sharma on Jul 24, 2007 11:52 AM  | Hide replies

Hello!

I had finished a book in a day and the next day when I was thinking about it, I felt a little cheated.
Somehow I felt that the book did not match the levels of Half blood prince and something is lacking in it.
May be the drama, emotions I don't know what but I think the last part was a let down for at least me.

Regards
Nidhi

I also felt that the book did not have the same level of drama and interest as the previous books. I think this was partly because Ron, Hermione and Harry were on theiwr own for a significant chunk of the story...and the Hogwarts interactions were missing.

___SPOILER ALERT___

The Deathly Hallows is one helluva read. I finished the book in 12 hours though I was purposely delaying knowing that it was the last book. It was indeed enjoyable and magical. The characters were in depth and the detailing once again was fantastic. I support the Harry Potter fans in every possible way and I will make sure that I spread the magic to anyone I know.
What a brilliant way to end the series. Epilogue in my opinion was important just to satisfy millions of the people who would be asking "I wonder what would happen to them now" So there Rowling answered all your questions..
All that mattered to me was Harry to kill Voldy. And It happened and how!!! Great stuff!

As it was quoted in previous books, 'the sword will appear when true Griffindor will need it' (as it appeared from the same hat in 2nd book). It doesnt matter who has it.

Ran out of smokes by the 20th chapter.

I held this so anticipated book in my hands, as my brother so eloquently handed it over, and thought minimal things. The book, and the 14 hours straight that it took for me to read it, were enjoyable and...every other emotion that I've experienced. Total chaos, Finding of love, the coming to truth. It was all moving. And the epilogue? Well, Harry Potter readers, I have to say this. How would you feel, 2, 5, 10 days after you finished those last words of the book, and there was no knotting of the epic? No coming to terms. No, there are no more books, and no, we won't experienced anymore of the adventures that Harry and his faithful friends embarked on. I believe that however painful it was to close another great series, that it was necessary for Mrs. J. K. to leave us content and satisfied with her work. Only certain things can you be left wanting more, and one of those is certainly not, something that has ended. So, as you take advantage of the metaphorical lessons that she so cleverly displayed through means of literary work, put your 7 ply collection in a safe place, for who knows whom else will desire such satisfactory reading? Good Day, Good Night, and long live the Harry Potter Journey.
