I wouldn't say that he is a nasal singer and definitely he has sung this song really well.
But one thing is for sure. Nowadays in all fields including music anything that is different works! Quality does not matter that much.
I am not taking of Soham but today the music industry seems to be full of shriekers rather than singers and they click simply because they are 'different'.
Also because of the impact of digitally created and mixed music the voice quality of the singer is not all that important as it used to be during the times of Rafi and Kishore.
Real great voice and melody is difficult to find today!
The lyrics of this song are also very meaningful. "Hain tumhe be ijaazat, karle tu bhi mohabbat....". It suits the Shiney-Shilpa characters who have lost love and romance in their respective marriages. This line sends a glimmer of hope to them.
I heard this song for the first time on Indian Idol 3 and fell in love with it.
I simply digged the band idea in metro. It really did take the narrative forward, and didnt have ppl running around trees. Ppl in india really really do not appreciate diff ideas. Be it musicals like Jaaneman or JBJ. They say they want diff stuff, but that is not true at all. They want only masala.

ya... why no photo of soham. This is a repeatedly done mistake by rediff.dont it earlier too. How can u not publish the image of the person whom u r talking about. thas so funny. Its common sense. need nt be told.
There are so many singers in the market that now it is becoming difficult to remember everybody's name. Anybody who can't do anything in life becomes a Singer and earns Lakhs of rupees
