Well that was a gem of a performance by Hellen Mirren.. and the way the royal attitude was bought down to earth by Diana's sheer popularity among the masses is a pleasure to watch.. Michael sheen is convincing as Blair and there are some very funny moments in this movie that is not be missed out..
If it's PREMONITION for Sandra Bullock, then it's PROMOTION for Helen Mirren! Congrats for her terrific performance, she's a queen indeed!
Why Blair is looking like a joker? Also, why the focus is more on Mr.Blair and less on Ms.Diana? I think the film should be called The Blair Queen Project! Nice screenplay, but not as a film.
The movie is more of a documentary ,well crafted and immensly watchable.To watch Helen mirren play elizabeth,(her mannerism,gait,)was itself worth the ticket.Must admit the parts of phillip and charles was a bit stilted.Sheen as Blair grows on you,as though he too looks a ple caricature initially.All said the 3 star rating is justifiable.
Hey guys I watched this movi abt 2 months back- just after it got oscar. And if u r really a hollywood movi fan- then I dont think u wud like this movi. It feels as the royal society of england gave money to fetch it the oscar. If any one wud have seen the oscar nominated movies then I u wud probably agree wid me tht their were far better movies and far better actors which cud not get an oscar. According to me the oscar is also manipulated. Its given 3 stars cause no one wud dare to say crap to an oscar wining movi. Bottom line is Helen Mirren has acted well but not tht well to get an oscar.

I saw this movie around 9 months ago in a movie theatre in London. Makes me wonder how the movie is getting released in India so late.
